10、E LATEST ISSUE OF AS22520. 1. CONFIGURATION: TOOL AND HOSE SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH FIGURES 1, 2, AND 3. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, DIMENSIONS ARE IN INCHES AND TOLERANCES ARE DECIMALS .01. OUTLINE CONFIGURATION IS OPTIONAL WITHIN MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS SHOWN IN FIGURES 1 AND 3. BREAK ALL SHARP EDGE

SURFACE TEXTURE SHALL BE 63 RMS ALL OVER IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASA B46.1-1962 (ANSI) OR ASME B46.1-2009 (AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARDS INSTITUTE). 1.1 THE M22520/28-01 TOOL SHALL BE DESIGNED TO USE THE POSITIONERS SPECIFIED IN AS22520/2. 1.2 THE M22520/28-01 TOOL SHALL CRIMP THE CONTACTS

12、 SPECIFIED IN AS39029 AND SIMILAR SPECIFICATIONS WHERE THE PART NUMBER M22520/2-01 IS THE DESIGNATED CRIMP TOOL FRAME. 1.3 THE TOOL SHALL CRIMP SIZE 20 CONTACTS AND SMALLER TO THE REQUIRED CRIMP DEPTH AT AN AIR PRESSURE OF 80 TO 120 PSI. 1.4 THE TOOL SHALL HAVE A SELF-CONTAINED HAND TRIGGER ACTUATOR

13、 OR AN ALTERNATE IN-LINE FOOT REMOTE CONTROL ACTUATOR (SEE APPLICATION NOTE). THE TOOL SHALL HAVE AN INTEGRAL ADJUSTMENT THAT WILL SIMULTANEOUSLY ENGAGE ONE CONTROL AND DISENGAGE THE OTHER CONTROL TO PREVENT CONCURRENT ACTIVATION. 1.5 THE TOOL SHALL BE SUPPLIED WITH AN M22520/28-02 FLEXIBLE PNEUMATI

14、C HOSE (SEE FIGURE 3). 1.6 THE TOOL SHALL MATE WITH A BENCH MOUNT ACCESSORY IN ACCORDANCE WITH M22520/30-01 OR EQUIVALENT. AEROSPACE STANDARD AS22520/28 SHEET 4 OF 6 CRIMPING TOOLS, TERMINAL, HAND OR POWER ACTUATED, WIRE TERMINATION, PNEUMATIC TOOL FOR WIRE BARREL SIZES 20 THROUGH 28 1.7 THE TOOL SH

15、ALL OPERATE WITH AN M22520/30-02 IN-LINE FOOT VALUE ACCESSORY OR EQUIVALENT. 1.8 THE POSITIONER RETAINER RING SHALL PROVIDE A POSITIVE DETENT FOR THE VARIOUS AS22520/2 BAYONET LOCK PINS (SEE FIGURE 2). 1.9 AS AN OPTION THE M22520/28-01 CRIMP TOOL MAY BE CONFIGURED WITH ELECTRONIC ACTUATOR, CYCLE COU

16、NTER, OR EXTERNAL CONTACT FEED MECHANISMS TO ACCOMMODATE HIGH PRODUCTION/AUTOMATION. IF THE CRIMP MECHANISM, INCLUDING THE CYCLE CONTROL CONFIGURATION IS UNCHANGED FROM THE QUALIFIED TOOL, IT SHALL ALSO BE CONSIDERED QUALIFIED. 2. IDENTIFICATION MARKING AND COLOR: 2.1 TOOL IDENTIFICATION LOCATION SH

17、ALL BE AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1 AND SHALL BE MARKED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-130, STAMP (LETTERING HEIGHT IS .093 MIN AND WHITE FILL) OR LASER MARKED. TOOL IDENTIFICATION SHALL INCLUDE MANUFACTURER NAME OR SYMBOL AND PART NUMBER, THE TOOL PART NUMBER M22520/28-01, AND THE INSPECTION GAGE PART NUMBER M

18、22520/3-1. PREFERRED TOOL COLOR IS BLACK AND BLUE. 2.2 THE POSITIONER SHALL BE MARKED AND CONFIGURED IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS22520/2. 2.3 THE HOSE SHALL INCLUDE THE M22520/28-02 PART NUMBER AND THE MANUFACTURERS PART NUMBER OR SYMBOL IN ACCORDANCE WITH AIR1353. LOCATION IS OPTIONAL. 2.4 INSTRUCTION LAB

19、ELS AND OTHER MARKINGS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH FIGURE 1. WHEN NEEDED, OTHER LABELS SHALL INCLUDE INSTRUCTION ON CHANGING FROM ONE CONTROL MEANS TO ANOTHER. MORE THAN ONE LABEL MAY BE USED TO PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION. PERMANENT LASER MARKING MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR LABELS SPECIFIED. 2.5 ALL MARKIN

20、G SHALL BE LEGIBLE AFTER ALL AS22520 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS. 2.6 OTHER UNSPECIFIED LABELS ARE PERMISSIBLE ON TOOL BODY. ALL LABELS SHALL STILL BE ATTACHED AND LEGIBLE AFTER ALL AS22520 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS. 3. MATERIAL: UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, MATERIAL SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS22520.

21、3.1 TOOL BODY AND AIR CYLINDER SHALL BE ALUMINUM. THE LOWER FRAME SHALL BE STEEL AND THE INDENTER MATERIAL SHALL BE OIL HARDEN TOOL STEEL. THE INDENTER MATERIAL SHALL BE HARDENED TO ROCKWELL “C“ 56-60. RETAINER RING (LOCK PLATE) SHALL BE STAINLESS STEEL PER AMS-QQ-S-763, CLASS 304. 3.2 POSITIONER BO

22、DY MATERIAL SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS22520/2. 3.3 FLEXIBLE HOSE MATERIAL SHALL WITHSTAND A MINIMUM AIR PRESSURE OF 150 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH AND CONNECTOR FITTINGS SHALL BE .125 NPT. 4. WEIGHT: WEIGHT OF TOOL FRAME WITHOUT POSITIONER SHALL NOT EXCEED 5.0 POUNDS. WEIGHT OF THE POSITIONER SHALL

23、BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS22520/2. 5. TOOL HIGH COMPRESSION FORCE: NOT REQUIRED FOR POWER CRIMP TOOLS. 6. TOOL FRAME INDENTER GAGE LIMITS: INDENTER NO AND NO-GO GAGE LIMITS ARE DEFINED IN TABLE 1 (SEE APPLICATION NOTES). 7. CYCLE CONTROL RATCHET: THE TOOL SHALL BE MADE WITH A TAMPER-PROOF RATCHET THAT

24、 ASSURES A COMPLETE CLOSURE OF THE TOOL PRIOR TO INDENTER RETURN TO OPEN POSITION. DEFORMATION OF THE CRIMP CONNECTION: THE DIFFERENCE

25、BETWEEN THE FIRST AND THIRD OPPOSING CRIMP INDENT MEASUREMENT SHALL NOT EXCEED .004 INCHES. 8.1 CYCLE CONTROL AND DEFORMATION TEST METHOD: CRIMP A .090 INCH DIAMETER COPPER ROD THREE TIMES AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. START WITH A LOW AIR PRESSURE THAT WILL NOT ALLOW THE INDENTERS TO OPEN WHEN CRIMPED ON

26、 THE ROD. SLOWLY INCREASE THE AIR PRESSURE UNTIL THE RATCHET JUST RELEASES AND THE INDENTERS OPEN. RECORD THE AIR PRESSURE AND MEASURE THE THICKNESS (CRIMP DEPTH) BETWEEN THE OPPOSING INDENTERS. REPEAT THE CRIMP A SECOND TIME AT THE SAME AIR PRESSURE (INDENTER MEASUREMENT NOT REQUIRED). RECORD THE A

27、IR PRESSURE. CRIMP THE ROD A THIRD TIME AT THE SAME AIR PRESSURE. MEASURE AND RECORD THE AIR PRESSURE AND THICKNESS BETWEEN INDENTS. . 9. 29、ICABLE CONTACTS SEE TABLE 1 OF AS22520/2 OR THE DETAIL STANDARDS IN AS39029, MIL-PRF-39012, AND OTHER CONTACT/CONNECTOR STANDARDS. 2. M22520/28-01 PNEUMATIC CRIMP TOOL FRAME IS AN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE FOR ALL CONTACTS WHERE THE SPECIFIED CRIMP TOOL FRAME IS M22520/2-01. THE SPECIFIED AS22520/2 LIST

30、ED POSITIONER SHALL BE USED WITH THE M22520/28-01 PNEUMATIC CRIMP TOOL FRAME. 3. INSPECTION GAGE LIMITS ARE SHOWN IN TABLE 1.
