ScopeThis SAE Recommended Practice was developed to provide a method of recomm

5、ending theavailability of various dimensional output shaft and crankcase flange combinations.1.1 PurposeThe purpose of this document is to provide a recommended practice for mounting flanges andpower take-off shafts used in small engine powered applications. Small engines addressed herewith are ther

Mounting Flanges for Horizontal Crankshaft Engines3.1 Illustrations of mounting flanges for horizontal crankshaft engines are shown in Figure

Three flange typesA,B, and C are described and their corresponding specific use with take-off shaft extensions can be identifiedin Figure 2.3.2 Recommended dimensional tolerances for concentricity, squareness of crankcase pilot flanges for pump andgenerator crankshaft mountings are specified in

8、Figure 1.4. Power Take-Off Shaft Extensions for Horizontal Crankshaft Engines4.1 Crankshaft design examples for keyway, pump, and generator shafts are illustrated in Figure 2. Illustrationdescribes mounting dimensions tolerances of power take-off shaft extensions for horizontal engines. Tables1a and

9、 1b provide additional descriptive dimensions for shaft extensions 1, 2, 3, 4, 4a, 4b, 6, 6a, 6b, and 8.4.2 Recommended concentricity and squareness dimensional tolerances of threaded crankshaft to theircorresponding face measurement are provided in Figure 2.5. 20、edition thus bring the document in line with SAE requirements. Aprimary objective is to modify English dimensions for flanges and PTO shafts into their metricdimensional equivalents.However to satisfy one of the disapproving votes, the dimensions and design features for a 25 mm PTOshaft was included

21、 for Flange E on page 5. Although, not common at the time this document was initiallyrevised and submitted for committee ballot, this PTO is increasingly more popular for the particularconfiguration shown by Flange E and is now included.Relationship of SAE Standard to ISO StandardNot applicable.Appl
