7、RUCTION GENERAL. For the purposes of this part of the code, contract administration starts with instructions to the contractor to commence work as set out in Subclause 4.1 of the Introduction of Part 5 of the code. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE AWARD OF THE COWRACT/HANDING OVER OF THE SITE SAMPLES OF BLAST
8、CLEANING (Sublause 5.4.3.1). Where required by the project specification, arrange for a sample to be produced of each grade of blast cleaning required. These samples should be kept by the engineer as the standard against which subsequent work will be judged. SAMPLES OF CLEANLINESS (Subclause 5.6). O
9、wing to difficulty in making comparisons with the reference stand- ards, on-the-job tests should be carried out and reference tapes agreed to before work commences so that the tapes may be kept as a standard to be achieved for the contract. The manufacturers recommendation should be obtained for each type of material to be applied in the corrosion protection system specified for the contract. Inspec

Where the plant used does not produce the specified result, consider alternative plant as may be proposed by the manufacturer of the coating that is being applied. Dry Film Thickness (Subclause 6.5). For shop coatings, DFT readings should be taken at 1

For site coatings applied after erection, DFT readings should be taken at the discretion of the inspector acting in agreement with the engineer and may be dictated by accessibility.
