12、ation covers prefabricated concrete components of the following types, for use in concrete fences: a) posts; b) plain panels; and c) decorative panels. NOTE 1) The standards referred to in the specification are listed in appendix A. 2) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser are listed

13、in appendix B. 3) Notes on the erection, care, and maintenance of prefabricated concrete fences are given in appendix C. 4) Arrangements for the assessing of compliance with the requirements of section 3 require special agreement between the supplier and the purchaser. Amdt 3 2 Definitions 2.1 For t

14、he purposes of this specification the following definitions shall apply: acceptable acceptable to the authority administering this standard, or to the parties concluding the purchase contract, as relevant Amdt 3 decorative panel a prefabricated concrete fence panel that has openings that are such th

15、at a fence (or part of a fence) assembled from identical panels is uniformly patterned defective a fence post or panel that fails in one or more respects to comply with the relevant requirements of the specification lot not less than 3 and not more than 100 panels of the same type, dimensions, and (

16、when relevant) pattern, or not less than 3 and not more than 25 posts of the same type and dimensions, from one manufacturer, submitted at any one time for inspection and testing SANS 1372:2010 Edition 1.3 4 plain panel a prefabricated concrete fence panel that is solid throughout and whose fair fac

17、e(s) may or may not be patterned stated dimensions the length and width that are the manufacturers equivalents to the specified nominal values of these dimensions, and that are given in terms of 6.1(b) and (c) (see also note to 4.2.2(a) 3 Materials 3.1 Cement The cement used shall comply with the re

18、quirements of SANS 50197-1. Amdt 2; amdt 3 3.2 Aggregate The aggregate shall consist of sand or stone (or both) that complies with the relevant requirements of SANS 1083. 3.3 Reinforcement Steel used for reinforcement shall comply with the requirements of SANS 1024 or BS 4482, and shall have a diame

19、ter not exceeding 0,5 times the thickness of the cover (see 4.l.2). 3.4 Water The water used in the mixing of the concrete shall be clean and free from injurious amounts of acids, alkalis, organic matter, and other substances that could impair the strength or durability (or both) of the concrete (se

20、e SANS 10100-2). 3.5 Admixtures Any admixture(s) used shall have no adverse effect on the strength or durability (or both) of the concrete (see SANS 10100-2, particularly with regard to the requirement for chloride content as Cl). 3.6 Pigments Pigments shall comply with the relevant requirements of

21、BS EN 12878. Amdt 3 3.7 Concrete The concrete shall be such that its compressive strength at 28 d, determined in accordance with SANS 5860, SANS 5861-2, SANS 5861-3 and SANS 5863, is at least 25 MPa. Amdt 2 4 Constructional requirements 4.1 General 4.1.1 Workmanship and finish Posts and panels shall

22、 be free from structural cracks. The finish on the faces of posts and panels shall be as agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser, and shall not be inferior to that of a reference sample of three posts and three panels retained by the manufacturer. The colour (if other than natural) of

23、 posts and panels shall be as agreed upon between the purchaser and the manufacturer. NOTE Recommendations on the curing of posts and panels are given in SANS 10100-2. SANS 1372:2010 Edition 1.3 5 4.1.2 Cover over reinforcement1)The thickness of the concrete cover over the reinforcement, determined

24、in accordance with 8.3, shall be at least 12 mm. 4.1.3 Planarity Any deviation from plane of the trowelled surface(s) of a post or a panel, measured in accordance with 8.4, shall not exceed 3 mm per metre of length or a pro rata portion of 3 mm for residual fractions of 1 m. 4.2 Posts 4.2.1 Type and

25、 shape Posts shall be of one of the following types, as specified by the purchaser: a) line posts; b) end posts; c) corner posts; or d) junction posts. Each post shall have, down one or more (as appropriate for its type) of its sides, a slot that extends the full length of the post. The bottom of ea

26、ch post shall be flat; the top may be flat or shaped. 4.2.2 Dimensions The dimensions of a post, determined in accordance with 8.2.1, shall be as follows: a) The nominal length of a post shall be 1 400 mm; 1 700 mm; 2 000 mm; 2 300 mm; or 2 700 mm, as specified by the purchaser, and its actual lengt

27、h shall not differ from the stated value by more than 25 mm. NOTE The length includes that part of the post that will be embedded in the ground but, when relevant, does not include the shaped part of the top. b) The cross-sectional dimensions of a slot and the flanges on a slotted surface shall conf

28、orm to the values for d1, d2, d3, and b2given in figure 1(b). c) The cross-sectional dimensions of a post shall be such that the thickness b1(see figure 1(b) of the concrete along a line perpendicular to the bottom of a slot is at least 50 mm. 1) When posts and panels are to be used in areas where s

29、evere corrosive conditions are known to exist, it is recommended that the minimum thickness of the concrete cover be increased to 15 mm. Figure 1 Concrete post SANS 1372:2010 Edition 1.3 7 4.3 Panels 4.3.1 Type and shape Panels shall be of the plain type or of the decorative type, as specified by the purchaser, and, when app

31、licable, shall be true to the pattern. The panels shall be rectangular, except that panels intended for the finishing off of the top of a fence may have a shaped upper edge, when so required by the purchaser. The lower or upper (or both) edges of a panel shall be so shaped that when panels are in po

32、sition in a fence, the contiguous surfaces of consecutive panels form a keyed or overlapping joint. The ends of a panel shall provide an acceptable fit with the slots in the posts (see figure 1). Amdt 1 4.3.2 Dimensions a) Length and width. The nominal length of all panels shall be 1 450 mm, and the

33、 nominal width of rectangular panels (see 4.3.1) and of panels having a shaped upper edge (when measured at the ends) shall, in the case of plain panels, be 300 mm and in the case of decorative panels, 300 mm or 600 mm, as specified by the purchaser. The actual length and width of a panel, determine

34、d in accordance with 8.2.2(a), shall not differ from the stated values by more than 5 mm. b) Thickness. The thickness of a panel, when determined in accordance with 8.2.2(b), shall be within 3 mm of the stated value. Amdt 1 4.3.3 Edge trueness When a panel is tested in accordance with 8.5, any depar

35、ture of an edge of the panel from the straight line joining the ends of that edge shall not exceed 2 mm. 4.3.4 Squareness Any out-of-squareness of a panel, determined in accordance with 8.6, shall not exceed the appropriate of the following: a) Panels of nominal width 300 mm: 6 mm. b) Panels of nomi

36、nal width 600 mm: 12 mm. 5 Performance requirements 5.1 Resistance of posts to concentrated force Amdt 1 When subjected in accordance with 8.7 to a concentrated force acting normal to the post, a post shall sustain a force of 1,5 kN for 1 min and there shall be no visible cracks after removal of the

37、 force. Amdt 1 5.2 Resistance of panels to transverse load When subjected in accordance with 8.8 to a transverse load, a panel shall support a load of 500 N per 300 mm of nominal width for 1 min and there shall be no visible cracks after removal of the load. 38、king 6.1 The following information shall be given in a consignment note that accompanies each consignment of prefabricated concrete components for fences: a) the manufacturers name, or trade name, or trademark, or a combination of these; b) the stated length of the posts; c) the stated length and wi

39、dth of the panels; d) the date of manufacture. 7 Sampling and compliance with the specification NOTE This section applies to the sampling for inspection and testing before acceptance or rejection of single lots (consignments) in cases where no information about the implementation of quality control

40、or testing during manufacture is available to help in assessing the quality of the lot. 7.1 Sampling The following sampling procedure shall be applied in determining whether a lot complies with the relevant requirements of the specification. The sample(s) so taken shall be deemed to represent the lo

41、t for the respective properties. 7.1.1 Sample for inspection From the lot take, when relevant at random, the number of posts or panels given in column 2 of table 1 relative to the appropriate lot size shown in column 1. 7.1.2 Sample for testing From the sample taken in accordance with 7.1.1, take, w

42、hen relevant at random, the number of posts or panels given in column 4 of table 1 relative to the appropriate lot size given in column 1. 7.2 Compliance with the specification The lot shall be deemed to comply with the relevant requirements of the specification if a) on inspection of the sample tak

43、en in accordance with 7.1.1, the number of defectives found does not exceed the relevant acceptance number shown in column 3 of table 1, and b) on testing of the sample taken in accordance with 7.1.2, no defective is found. 45、 accordance with 7.1.1 for compliance with the requirements of 4.1.1, and 4.2.1 or 4.3.1 (as relevant). 8.2 Dimensions NOTE Unless otherwise indicated, take all measurements to the nearest 1 mm. 8.2.1 Posts (see figure 1) a) Measure the length L, of the post under test along a slot, disregarding any

46、 shaped end, and check for compliance with the requirement of 4.2.2(a). b) Using any suitable means and taking at least four measurements of each dimension at approximately equal intervals along the length of the post, measure the thickness d1of the flanges, the widths d2and d3, and the depth b2of e

47、ach slot, and check for compliance with the requirement of 4.2.2(b). c) Measure the thickness of concrete along a line perpendicular to the bottom of the slot, and check for compliance with the requirement of 4.2.2(c). 8.2.2 Panels a) Length and width. Using any suitable means measure the length of

48、the panel along its approximate centre-line. In the case of a rectangular panel, measure the width of the panel under test at three different points spaced at approximately equal intervals along the edges of the panel. In the case of a panel having a shaped upper edge, measure the width of the panel

49、 at its ends. Calculate the average value for the width and check for compliance with the relevant requirement of 4.3.2(a). b) Thickness. Measure the thickness of the panel at four uniformly distributed positions agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser. Calculate the average value for the thickness (see 4.3.2(b). Amdt 1 SANS 1372:2010 Edition 1.3 10 8.3 Concrete cover test Using any acceptable method, measure, to the nearest 2 mm, the thickness of the cover over the reinforcement in each of the test specimens. 8.4 Planarity test So rest the panel or
