3、 in this standard includesall perforated film used in the motion-picture industry.Specifically included are leaders, including un-perforated leaders; sensitized stock based on thesilver halide, dye transfer, vesicular, or other image-producing systems; raw and processed stock; andmagnetically coated

4、 perforated film.4 Specification4.1 Safety film, as applied to the motion-pictureindustry, shall comply with ISO 18906.4.2 All films intended for the motion-pictureindustry shall be manufactured in compliancewith ISO 18906.4.3 ISO 18906 includes in the nitrogen analysisnot only the support film but

5、also the emulsionand any other applied coating or treatment suchas protective lacquers.NOTE 35-mm nitrate motion-picture film is no longermanufactured in the United States. However, there areexisting nitrate films still in use or in storage and there areothers existing or of future manufacture which

6、 may beimported. There is no intent in this standard to limit the useof such 35-mm nitrate films but, by designating them asnonstandard, it is intended to emphasize that the hazardinvolved in their handling requires the observance ofadequate precautions and safeguards (see NFPA 40).Annex A (informat

7、ive)Nitrate filmBecause of its attendant fire hazards, nitrate film has neverbeen manufactured in the United States in 16-mm and 8-mmwidths since these are traditionally for amateur and non-theatrical use. However, small quantities of nitrate film maybe in existence as a result of foreign import or
