5、tm with the appliance de-energizedThe appliance shall be operated under the conditions of Clause 11 at the lower limit of the rated voltageand an ambient temperature of 23 C 5 C. The appliance shall be operated until all components andthe enclosure temperatures stabilize or are declining, but for no
6、t less than 24 hours, or until the operationof the compressor is terminated by a non-self-resetting protective device. Any self-resetting protectivedevices that actuates during this test shall be allowed to cycle as intended.Component temperatures shall:- not exceed the temperature limits in Clause

8、e break.Note: There a number of solutions which may be effective in meeting the test criteria. For example; a)thermal based solutions such as electronic devices like a Heat Detector Circuit-Interrupters (HDCIs) orelectromechanical devices like bi-metal snap disc and similar thermal based devices, or

11、ry due to the dehumidifier fires and CPSC recalls of the past severalyears. Similar requirements have already been added to UL 474, the Standard for Dehumidifiers, witheffective dates of February 6, 2017 and March 9, 2017. In addition, these requirements have beenincluded in the proposed 2nd edition
12、 of UL 60335-2-40. These dehumidifier-specific requirements havebeen balloted and have achieved consensus. However, it appears this 2nd edition will not be publishedfor at least several more months due to issues other than dehumidifiers. Because of the importance ofthese safety requirements, and the
