10、e type, andthese types are additionally noted in this document. The standard may not use all types of thesedeviations.D1 - These are deviations which are based on basic safety principles and requirements, elimination ofwhich would compromise safety for U.S. consumers and users of products.D2 - These

11、 are deviations based on safety practices. These are deviations for IEC requirements that maybe acceptable, but adopting the IEC requirements would require considerable retesting or redesign on themanufacturers part.DC - These are deviations based on the component standards and will not be deleted u

12、ntil a particularcomponent standard is harmonized with the IEC component standard.DE - These are deviations based on editorial comments or corrections.DR - These are deviations based on the national regulatory requirements.Each national difference contains a description of what the national differen

13、ce entails. Typically one of thefollowing words is used to explain how the text of the national difference is to be applied to the base IECtext:Addition / Add - An addition entails adding a complete new numbered clause, subclause, table,figure, or annex. Addition is not meant to include adding selec

14、t words to the base IEC text.Deletion / Delete - A deletion entails complete deletion of an entire numbered clause, subclause,table, figure, or annex without any replacement text.Modification / Modify - A modification is an altering of the existing base IEC text such as theaddition, replacement or d

Three samples are to be installed either on protectors oron metal mandrels representative of the size and shape of the protector to be insulated andsubmitted to the 18-day test described in Table 13.101DV. Fifteen samples are to be 4inches (102 mm) diameter

Forthe 3 samples on the mandrel or protector body, one electrode shall be connected to themandrel or protector body and the other should be on the opposite side of the insulationsleeve in the center of the sleeve. The voltage is to be applied at a uniform rate

38、 of 500 voltsper second until breakdown occurs. 39、TION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL13.101DV.3 As a result of this test, the average breakdown value for each set of samplesshall be no less than 5 000 volts. In addition, the average breakdown value for all 13conditioned samples shall be no less than one-half the value of the as-received

40、samples.For example, when the as-received samples had a breakdown of 15 000 volts, then theconditioned samples shall not have a breakdown less than 7 500 volts.13.101DV.4 The samples to be subjected to 18 days of oven temperature are to besuspended vertically in an air-circulating oven. The oven tem

41、perature is to be cycled asspecified in Table 13.102DV. This Table is based upon the maximum temperature seeTable 14.1 that meets the requirements for the insulation class and a minimumtemperature such that the average of the minimum and maximum temperatures equals themaximum average temperature for
