31、l Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this en

32、d and in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports, Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC Publication(s)”). Their preparation is entrusted to technical committees; any IEC National Comm

33、ittee interested in the subject dealt with may participate in this preparatory work. International, governmental and non-governmental organizations liaising with the IEC also participate in this preparation. At this date, the publication will be reconfirmed, withdrawn, replaced by a revised edition, or amended. 6 IEC 62803:2016 IEC 2016 INTRODUCTION A variety of microwave-photonic devices are used in wireless communication and broadcasting systems. A photo-receiver is an interface w

44、hich converts an optical signal to an electronic signal. This International Standard has been prepared to provide methods for evaluating and calibrating high speed photo-receivers to be used in Radio over Fibre systems. The method utilizes a Mach-Zehnder modulator for generating two-tone lightwaves

45、as stimulus signals, to provide simpler and easier methods than the conventional method utilizing a complex two-laser system phase-locked with each other. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) draws attention to the fact that it is claimed that compliance with this document may involve

46、 the use of a patent concerning a calibration method and device for light intensity measuring instrument, as it relates to Clause 6.
