10、ction This introduction is not part of ANSI C63.2-2009, American National Standard for Electromagnetic Noise and Field Strength Instrumentation, 10 Hz to 40 GHz Specifications. In the process of performing a revision of ANSI C63.2-1996 to include radio noise and field strength characteristics for th

11、e 1 GHz to 18 GHz frequency range, the Accredited Standards Committee C63Electromagnetic Compatibility realized that there was a significant duplication of effort occurring between the international and the national EMC standards committees. For example, the specification ANSI C63.2 mirrored the CIS

12、PR 16-1-1:2003 (i.e., originally CISPR 2 and CISPR 3) requirements for the basic field strength instrumentation for the 9 kHz to 1000 MHz frequency range. Consequently, the C63committee then proposed to adopt CISPR 16, Part 1-1, as the US National Specification for field strength instrumentation but

13、 also retaining the unique requirements that are not in CISPR 16-1-1:2003 and are still used by certain domestic organizations.aThese requirements that are not in CISPR 16-1-1 are discussed in Clause 3 of this standard. A comparison between the parameters in these two standards is summarized in Anne

30、 dynamic range ANSI C63.2-1996 (Clause 9 and Table 1) required that the spurious-free dynamic range shall be 60 dB at the minimum bandwidth and in the peak detector mode; 4.5 of CISPR 16-1-1:2003 requires only 40 dB. 3.6 RF dynamic range or overload factor ANSI C63.2-1996 (Table 1) required that the

31、 RF dynamic range shall be 80 dB at the minimum bandwidth and in the peak detector mode; 4.2 of CISPR 16-1-1:2003 uses the term Overload Factor and has values between 24 dB and 43.5 dB for circuits preceding the detector. 3.7 Detector integrating time constant for rms and average detector ANSI C63.2

32、1996 (10.3 and Table 1) required that a variable detector integrating time constant shall be provided that is variable from 0.1 s to 100 s. Because no commercial or military specification exists that requires a variable integrating time constant, therefore this requirement was deleted for this edit
