This standard provides that: “They shall be dead weight motor dial type. Lowering speed should be approximately 0
10、.8 mm (0.03 in) per second. The movable face or pressure foot shall be circular with an area of 200 mm f 5mm2 (0.31 in f 0.01 inz). The fixed face or anvil shall be of such size that the whole area of the pressure foot is in contact with the anvil in the zero position. Surfaces shall be parallel wit
11、hin 0.001 mm (O.OO5 in) and the pressure foot shall move on an axis perpendicular to the anvil.” 4.2 Pressure. As described in TAPP1 Standard T4il os-1984, the pressure foot shall exert steady pressure on the specimen of 7.3 psi f 0.3 psi based on the area of the pressure foot. 5. CONDITIONING 5.1 G
12、eneral. All samples shall be conditioned to 50% L 2% relative humidity and 73.4OF f 3.5OF (23OC f 2OC) temperature for a period of at least six hours prior to testing. 6. MEASUREMENT 61 General. With the manually operated micrometer, the pressure foot shall either be lowered to within 0.0076 mm (0.0
13、003 in) of the specimen and then released, or lowered at a velocity less than 12 mm (0.5 in) per second onto the surface no less than the 0.8 mm (0.03 in) per second specified for the motor instrument. The pressure foot shall maintain the dead weight loading for 3 seconds f 1 sec- ond. All measureme

A minimum of four measurements shall be made at separate locations with the pressure foot at least 6.35 mm (0.25 in) away from the edges of the card and the buildup area. The largest of these measurements shall be taken as the thickness of

A minimum of four measurements, with one on each side of the buildup area rectangle, as shown in Figure 1, shall be made, The pressure foot shall be centered across the width of the buildup. The largest of these measurements shall be taken as the buildup area t

The buildup thickness shall be taken as the difference between the buildup area thickness as measured in Section 6.3 and the c&d thickness of the same card as measured in Section 6.2.
