Each half of the belt shall be marked by means of a sewed label located as shown on 563590, These labels shall be in accordance with MIL-L-15040, type I, on a

The belt, including all parts and accessories, shall be constructed and finished in a thoroughly workmanlike manner. Particular atten- tion shall
15、 be given to freedom of-parts from burrs and sharp edges. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS * 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except
16、as otherwise specified inthe contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirement speci- fied herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set
17、 forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Acceptance tests, Acceptance tests shall consist of: a. Individual tests. b. Sampling plans and tests. 4,l.l.l Individual tests. Each lap safety belt shal
18、l be subjected to the f o 1 lowing test s : 4.1.1.2 Examination of product. Each belt shall be examined to determine conformance with this specification with respect to material, workmanship, and markings. 4.1.1.3 Proof load. Each belt shall be assembled in a testing machine by attaching the end sna
19、p metal fittings to one moveable and one stationary head, with the quick release latch assembly closed. A proof load of 1,000 pounds shall be applied. There shall be no evidence of weakening of the webbing or stitching, slipping of the webbing through the metal adjusters or deformation of any metal
20、fittings in the belt assembly. 4.1.2 Periodic sampling tests. 4.1.2.1 - Lot. A lot shall consist of safety belts manufactured under essentially the same conditions and submitted for inspection at substantially the same time. 4.1.2.2 Ultimate load test. Sampling for the ultimate load test shall be in
21、 accordance with level L4 of the appendix to MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 0.40. Each sample belt shall be assembled in testing machine (as described in 4.1.1.3)and subjected to a static load of 2500 pounds. weakening of the webbing or stitching, slippage or webbing through the adjust- ing hardware, o

23、shall be level A or commercial as speci- fied (see 6.2). 5.1.1 Level A, 5.1.1.1 Cleaning. Belts shall be cleaned in accordance with MIL-P-116, process C-1, 5.1.1.2 Preservative applications. Preservatives shall not be used. 5,11;3 Unit packs. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.21, each belt shall be
24、individually unit packed in accordance with MIL-P-116, method lA, and packaging in containers meeting PPP-B-636, class domestic or PPP-B-676. 5.1.2 Comercial. The commercial Preservation of belts shall be in accord- ance with the requirements of ASTM D 3951, 5.2 Packing. Packing shall be level A, B
25、or commercial, as specified (see 6.2). 5.2.1 Level A. The packaged belts shall be packed in containers conform- ing to PPP-B-601, overseas type. with applicable container specification. Closure and strapping shall be in accordance 1 5.2.2 Level B. The packaged belts shall be packed in fiberboard con
26、- tainers conforming to PPP-B-636, class weather resistant, style optional or PPP-B-601, domestic type. applicable container specification or appendix thereto. Closure and strapping shall be in accordance with 5.2.3 Commercial. The packaged belts shall be packed in accordance with the requirements o
27、f ASTM D 3951. 5.3 Marking. In addition to any special or other identification marking required by the contract (see 6.2) each unit pack, intermediate and exterior container shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129 or ASTM D 3951, as applicable. 6. NOTES 6.1 - Uses. The type MC-1A safety belt
28、covered by this specification is intended for use to secure troop personnel in their aircraft seats and is easily and quickly detachable if cargo only is to be carried in the aircraft. 6.2 Ordering data. Purchase requests and invitations for bids should specify whether domestic or export shipment is
29、 required. * 6.3 Changes from previous issue. The margins of this specification are marked with asterisks to indicate where changes (additions, modifications, corrections, deletions) from the previous issue were made. convenience only and the Government assumes no liability whatsoever for any inaccu
