3、ter shall be designed for continuous operation and shall be constructed so that parts will not work loose in service or show excessive wear. The riveter shall be designed to withstand the conditions associated with shipping, storage, and service. 3.4.1 Maintenance. The riveter shall be designed and

4、con- structed so that adjustments and repairs, including assembly and disassembly can be accomplished efficiently without the use of special tools. 3.4.2 Control smoothness. The riveter shall be designed so that the operator can maintain complete and precise control at all times. cient tolerance to

8、e. The overall dimensions of the riveter and nose assembly shall not exceed the following: Height - 12 inches Width - e inches Length - 7% inches 3.4.9 Riveter action and operation. The riveter shall be p-neu- matically and trigger operated and produce an axial pulling force through the nose assembl

9、y. The gun shall autamatically complete one cycle of pulling (and shifting as required) with one actuation OE the trigger. 3.5 Selection of specifications and standards. Specifications and standards for necessary commodities and services not speci- fied herein shall be selected in accordance with co

10、mmercial stand- ards except as provided in 3.5.1 and 3.5.2. 3.5.1 -Cornmercial parts. Commercial parts having suitable prop- .erties may be used provided: a. They may be replaced by the standard parts (MS or AN) without alteration. b. The corresponding standard part numbers are referenced in the par

11、ts list and, if practical, on the contractors draw- ings and manuals. 3.5.2 Standard parts. With the exception specified in 3.5.1, I5 and AN Standard Parts shall be used where.they suit the pur- pose. number. 3.6 Performance. The gun shall be capable of continuous operation in temperatures ranging f

12、rom -20 to 120%. They shall be identified on the drawings by their part G - 3.6.1 Storage. The gun shall be capbl f withstanding prolong- ed storage in temperatures ranging from -80 F to 160%. 3.7 Interchangeability, Al1 parts having the same manufacturers part number shall be functionally and dimen

Equipment assemblies and parts shall be marked for identification in accordance with Military Standard MU-STD-130. 3.9 Techni

14、cal dta. Complete design activity drawings, parts list, and overhaul and maintenance manuals shall be submitted when specified (see 6.2). 3.10 Carrying case. Ametal carrying case shall be provided with each gun. gun and accessories in place to prevent damage. Ai1 edges of the case shall be smooth to

15、 prevent injury while handling. Provisions will be made in the case to hold the , 3.11 Workmanship. shall be fabricated and finished in a workman like manner. Particular attention shall be given to freedom from blemishes, defects, burrs and sharp edges, accuracy of dimensions, marking of parts and a

16、ssemblies, throughness of welding and brazing, alignment of parts and tightness of assembly screws and bolts. The gun, including all parts and accessories, 3.12 Installation of fasteners. The riveter shall be capable of installing all serrated-stem blind rivets, 1/8 through 3/16 inch diameter, inclu

17、ding mechanical lock spindle blind rivets, when using the proper nose assembly, and when the rivet pin breakload is not in excess of 1000 pounds. 3.13 Endurance. The riveter shall be capable of satisfactorily pulling 6000 blind rivets. 3.14 Nose Assembly. Sufficient nose assemblies shall be fur- nis

18、hed with each riveter to pull the rivets specified in 3.12. Additional nose assemblies will be furnished when ordered (see 6.2). 4. QUALITY ASSURBNCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Inspection responsibility. The supplier is responsible , for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. his ow

19、n or any other inspection facilities and services accept- able to the government, and tests shall be kept complete and available to the government as specified in the contract or order. the rght to perform any of the inspections set forth in the test where such inspections are deemed necessary to as

21、 Classification of tests. The inspection and testing of the guns shall he classified as follows: a. b. Acceptance teats- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -(see 4.5) Preproductiontesting- - - - - - - - - - - - (see 4.4) 4.3 Tests 4.3.1 Environmental tests. The gun shall be subjected-to the following tests i

22、n accordance with the specified procedures of MU-E -49 7 O. 4.3.1.1 Low temperature. The gun shall be subjected to low temperature in accordance with procedure I of MIL-E-4970. Mter the exposure period, the temperature of the gun shall be raised to -20 F and stabiized. the gun shall be cycled at lea

23、st 100 times. There shall be no evidence of detrimental effects as a result of this test. With the temperature maintained 4.3.1.2 High temperature. The gun shall be subjected to high temperature in accordance with procedure I of MIL-E-4970. the exposure period, the temperature shall be lowered to 12

24、0 F and stablized. With the temperature maintained, the gun shall be cycled at least 100 times. detrimental effects as a result of this test, Bfter There shall be-no evidence of 4.3.1.3 Endurance. The riveter shall satisfactorily pull 6000 blind rivets. all incidents of the test, such as adjustments

25、 made, servicing performed and any irregular functioning of the gun and correct- ive measures taken. Notes shall be placed on the log sheet of 4.3.1.4 Examination of product. .Kach riveter shall be inspected to determine compliance with the requirements of this specification with respect to workmans

26、hip, materials, finishes, dimensions, weight, and marking. 4.3.1.5 Accuracy. Each gun shall satisfactorily pull a complete range of mechanical lock spindle rivets, 1/8 inch thru 3/16 inch diameter, except rivets that the pin breakload exceeds 1000.pounds. 27、ly will be cause for re j ect ion. 4.3.1.6 Teardawn. The gun shall be completely disassembled after completion of al1 tests knd inspected,for excessive wear, warpxe, deterioration cracks, or failure of parts. . 29、r 4.4 Preproduction testing 4.4.1 Preproduction test sample. The preproduction test sample shall consist of three riveters as specified in the specification, upon satisfactory completion of the preproduction tests, these test samples may be used to satisfy the contractors commitments. 4.4.2 Preprodu

30、ction tests. The preproduction tests shall consist of ail the tests described under 4.3. 4.5 Acceptance tests. ing tests as described under: Each gun shall be subjected to the follow- a. 31、 5, PREPAMTION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Preservation and packaging. Preservation and packaging shall be level A or C as specified in EIL-P-12829 (see 6.2). 5.2 Packing. MIL-P-12829 (see 6.2) 5.3 Marking. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order, unit packages, intermediate packag

32、es, and shipping containers shall be marked in accordance with the requirements of MXL-STD-129. Packing shall be level A, B, or C as specified in 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The riveter covered by this specification is intended for use in the installation of serrated stem blind rivets including mecha

33、nical lock spindle rivets, 1/8 through 3/16 diameter, except rivets that have a pin breakload in excees of 1000 pounds. 6.2 Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the . following: I.
