REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Preproduction. This specification makes provision for preproduction testing, 3.2 Units. One c

9、omplete Selector, Antenna C-4808/ARC shall consist of: Item Nr. The requirements of MIL-E-5400 shall apply as require- Classification, The selector, Antenna C-4808/ARC shall be class 2 as 3.3.2 Materials

12、I2 b U r MIL-S-3816OB(USAF j 3.3.3 Design and construction 3.3.3.1 Overload protection. One ampere rating fuse shall be used. 3.3.3.2 Reliability, longevity, and maintainability - 3.3.3.2.1 Reliability. Reliability of the Selector, Antenna C-4808/ARC shall be determined in accordance with MIL-STD-78

13、1. 3.3.3.2.2 MTBF for selector antenna. The minimum acceptable mean-time- between-failure (MTBF) for the C-4808/ARC antenna selector shall be 1000 hours. 3.3.3.3 Maintainability c 3.3.3.3.1 Maintainability demonstration. Maintainability demonstration requirements shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-

14、471. 3.3.3.4 Service conditions (electrical) 3.3.3.4.1 of primary power for normal operation. Power consumptions. The selector shall not require more than 25 watts 3.3.3.4.2 requirements of this specification when the input power is varied within the limits of MIL-STD-704 for category B equipment. 3

15、.3.3.5 Service conditions (environmental) 3.3.3.5.1 to + 85C. Input power variations. The selector shall meet all of the performance ope rating temperature. The operating temperature shall be from -54“ 3.3.3.5.2 Vibration frequency. The selector shall be tested under mechanical excitation over a fre

16、quency range from 5 to 1000 Hz. The amplitude over the frequency range shall be O. 08 inch double amplitude (maximum total excursion) or 20G whichever is less. The tolerance on vibration amplitude shall be *IO percent. 3.4 Design and construction, The antenna selector shall be designed and con- stru

17、cted to utilize audio-signal-level information from a radio set and control a single-pole, double-throw, radio-frequency switch. Physical construction shall be in accordance with Drawing 63C4011. Reduction in size and weight is permissible, but conpatibility with the external wiring, electrical conn

18、ectors, and mounting dimensions which affect interchangeability with the outline drawing shall be maintained. 3.4.1 antenna selector shall be in accordance with Drawing 58D12655 and Drawing 58D12656. The mounting shall be attached to the selector unit during testing. Mounting. In addition to the req

This adjustment shall be a screwdriver adjustment

20、with a locking device for holding the setting, The sensitivity adjustment shall be labeled SENSITIVITY and an arrow shall be provided to indicate clockwise rotation for increasing sensitivity. Adjustment provisions. Means shall be provided on the front panel for adjust- 3.4.3 the threshold level to

21、any audio voltage between 50 millivolts and 1 volt rms, using I000 Hz as a reference frequency, applied to pin 4 of plug DM9700-19, or equal, of the selector. Threshold sensitivity adjustment. Means shall be provided for adjustment of 3.4.4 Maximum audio signal tolerance. The antenna selector shall

22、be capable of handling audio input voltages as high as 80 volts peak and 40 volts rms without causing malfunction or excessive delay in resumption of normal operation after the maximum voltage has been removed. 3.4.5 15 cycles per minute. An adjustment of the switching rate may be provided if necess

23、ary for initial adjustment. If used, the adjustment shall be provided with a locking device and shall be accessible from inside the case only. The dwell period of each half cycle shall be essentially equal and shall not deviate more than 20 percent during extreme environmental conditions. Cyclic swi

24、tching rate. The cyclic switching rate shall be 70 plus or minus 3.4.6 permit control of the external r-f switch to be exercised manually by connection of a switch as indicated on Drawing 63D4012. Manual over-ride provisions. The internal circuitry shall be designed to 3.4.7 Indicator circuit. A cir

The circuit shall be closed when the selector is locked on and the cyclic action has stopped, In the closed position, the circuit shall have a maxi- . mum resistance of 2 ohms, and a minimum resistance of 10,000 ohms in the op

This circuit is intended for use in switching a low-power, 18-volt, 400-cycle indicator circuit. 3.5 Performance 3.5.1 2 antennas by controlling the action of a single-pole, double-throw, radio-frequency switch which shall be located remotely from the antenna selector. This control of t

27、he remote r-f switch shall consist of off-on information. Function. The antenna selector shall perform the function of selecting 1 of .- 3.5.2 controlled by an associated receiver-transmitter. This control of the antenna selector shall take the form of an abrupt change in the audio signal level supp

28、lied by the receiver-transmitter. This change in audio level is typical of the audio output from Radio Sets AN/ARC-27, AN/ARC-34, and AN/ARC-90 just before and immediately following the opening of the squelch relay when awsable signal is received, During Control by a receiver-transmitter. 30、all supply information to cause the r-f switch to cycle con- tinuously between the two antennas. This cyclic action shall consist of equal time periods of off and on, programmed alternately. 3.5.2.1 Audio input impedance. The audio input of the selector, when connected for control by Radio Sets AN/A

31、RC-27, AN/ARC-34, and AN/ARC-90 shall present a bridging impedance of at least 2000 ohms. 3.5.2.2 simals of anv frequency between 100 and 4000 Hz. 32、 at the frequency extremes. 3.5.3 the antenna selector, it shall take one or the other of the following two sequences: Sequence. When control of the remotely located r-f switch is exercised by a. If the r-f relay is de-energized, thus connecting the antenna through its normally closed contacts to th

33、e receiver, when an abrupt increase in audio level is experienced by the antenna selector, the cyclic action shall stop, causing the r-f relay to remain de-energized. This condition shall remain until the audio level again drops below the adjusted threshold level. If a drop in level below the thresh

34、old level occurs, the r-f relay shall again resume its cyclic action. b. If the r-f relay is energized, thus connecting the other antenna to the receiver when an abrupt increase in audio level is experienced by the anetenna selector, the cyclic action shall stop and the r-f relay shall remain energi

35、zed until the audio signal drops below the adjusted threshold level, causing the cyclic action to resume. 3.5.4 Memory circuit. The memory circuit shall be capable of storing information indicating whether the external relay was energized or de-energized when the last abrupt increase in audio level

36、above the threshold level occurred. The memory shall be retained during all periods when the audio level is below the threshold level. The information stored shall not be affected by any audio output from the receiver- transmitter during periods of transmission or during the transient conditions res

37、ult- ing from changeover from reception to transmission, or transmission to reception. This information shall be retained until the next squelch opening occurs or until the primary power is turned off. Using the stored information, the antenna selector shall select the antenna that provided the last

38、 usable received signal when trans- . mission was initiated. The antenna selector shall utilize a c.ontrolled ground-seeking circuit from the transmitter for transmit-receive information which the ground circuit completed during transmit conditions. This controlled ground circuit within the antenna

39、selector shall use a series diode to reflect a high impedance to plus 28 volts dc on the circuit during the receiving periods. The contacts of the relay used in the selector Circuitry shall be included within the selector unit for suppression of tr

41、ansient voltages ranging up to 400 volts on the external r-f relay control line to within 20 percent of the control voltage. 3.5.6 Selector recovery performance. Operational performance of the selector shall be such that the differential in control voltage which occurs between antenna relay Sock-on

42、and drop-out (resume cycling) shall be 3 plus or minus 1 dB. The recovery time (resume cycling) shall not be less than 400 milliseconds nor more than 1 second. 3.6 Weight. The weight of the antenna selector, including the moGting, shall not exceed 24 ounces. 3.7 Government loaned property. When spec

43、ified in the contract or purchase order, the Government will loan the following, if available, to the contractor upon his request: Item Nr. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherw

45、ise specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the per- formance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the spec

46、ificatin where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 be classified as follows: Classification of tests. Vibration: None e. the power-input terminal of the equipment f. for operational testing. 4.4 Preproduction testing 4.4.1 Test sample. The test sample shall consist of 5 each of

49、each unit representa- tive of the production equipment. The samples shall be identified with the manu- facturers part number and such other information as required by the procuring activity. 4.4.2 Preproduction test report. The contractor shall prepare a preproduction test report in accordance with MIL-STD-831. 4.4.3 in 4.6, except preproduction reliability tests (see 4.6.13). 4.4.3.1 Preproduction reliability tests.
