Ordering Information5.1 When tubing is ordered to this specification, the pur-chaser shall define the size, color, and type of the requiredtubing.6. Materials and Manufacture6.1 The polymers used in the manufacture of
10、 heat-shrinkable tubing shall be modified poly(vinyl chloride) andthe finished compound shall be free of all foreign matter otherthan intended formulation additives as appropriate.6.2 The tubing shall be extruded, crosslinked (Type II only),and then expanded to the required dimensions.7. Workmanship9.1 The tubin
29、g shall be homogeneous and free of flaws,defects, pinholes, bubbles, seams, cracks, or inclusions thathave the potential to detrimentally affect its suitability for theservice intended.10. Sampling10.1 Alot shall consist of all material that is processed at thesame time and under the same conditions
30、 and submitted forinspection at one time.10.2 If properties are unaffected by subsequent processing,they shall be permitted to be tested at any stage in processing.10.3 Select a quantity of the product at random from eachlot in accordance with Practice D3636 and Table 4.10.4 It is acceptable to use
31、statistical process control mea-surements to demonstrate conformance instead of the samplingplan noted herein when the demonstrated process capability isgreater than the specified AQL.11. Number of Tests and Retests11.1 The methods of test define the number of specimensand length required for each t
32、est.11.2 If the results of any test, except for attributes listed inTable 2 and Table 3, do not conform to the requirementsprescribed in this specification, perform two additional tests ondifferent specimens from the same lot. Nonconformance toTable 2 and Table 3 requirements on first inspection sha
33、ll because for rejection.11.3 If either of the two additional tests results in anonconformance, the purchaser shall have the option to rejectthe lot of material. Notice of nonconformance based on testsmade according to this specification shall be reported to themanufacturer within 60 days from recei
34、pt of the material by thepurchaser.11.4 It is acceptable to replace or rework tubing that hasbeen rejected in order to correct the defects and to resubmit itfor inspection. Before resubmitting, full particulars concerningprevious rejection and action taken to correct the nonconfor-mances shall be fu
35、rnished to the inspector.12. Test Methods12.1 The test methods described in Test Methods D2671shall be used unless otherwise stated in Table 1.12.2 To recover (shrink) heat-shrinkable tubing described inthis specification, the following shall be used:Type I15 min at 135 6 5C (275 6 9F)Type II15 min
36、at 175 6 6C (347 6 10F)13. Inspection13.1 The manufacturer or the purchaser or both shall haveavailable all the facilities to enable the complete testing to thisspecification.14. Certification14.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, themanufacturers or suppliers certification shall be
37、furnished tothe purchaser stating that samples representing each lot havebeen manufactured, tested, and inspected in accordance withthis specification and the requirements have been met. Whenspecified in the purchase order or contract, a report of the testresults shall be furnished.15. Packaging, Ma
38、rking, and Shipping15.1 The tubing shall be supplied in continuous rolls, or inlengths as mutually agreed upon between the manufacturer andthe purchaser.15.2 The tubing shall be packaged in conformance withgood commercial practice unless otherwise specified. Indi-vidual sizes, types, lengths, and co
39、lors shall be bundled andspooled and properly identified, specifying size, type, quantity,color, and material.15.3 The bundles or spools shall then be placed in corru-gated boxes, and shall be taped in a manner that shall beaccepted by parcel post or common carrier.16.
