3、each game participant prior to the participants first game of the day. The intent is to revisethis practice whenever substantive information becomes available which justifies revising existingrequirements or adding new requirements.1. Scope1.1 This practice is intended to satisfy the demand for basi

4、csafety information, which should be understood by each airsoft game participant prior to the start of the players first gameon the day of play.1.2 The information specifies rules of personal conduct,which might affect the safety of persons who are in closeproximity to an air soft gun.1.3 The inform

5、ation includes procedures to be followed byevery person who is in, or near, an area where air soft gamesare being played or air soft ammunition is being shot, and tothe use of safety equipment related to air soft game or air softtarget shooting activities. These procedures are to be followedany time

6、 an air soft gun is being handled.1.4 This standard is intended to be a useful tool for air softgame organizers, but it is not intended to eliminate the need forproper game supervision, conforming to Practice F2940.1.5 This international standard was developed in accor-dance with internationally rec

7、ognized principles on standard-ization established in the Decision on Principles for theDevelopment of International Standards, Guides and Recom-mendations issued by the World Trade Organization TechnicalBarriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.2. Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 air soft projectile, nprojectile complying with Speci-fication F2679, which is fired from an airsoft gun.3.1.2 air soft gun, ndevice specifically designed to dis-charge air soft projectiles such as but not limi

10、ted to thosedescribed in Specification F2748.3.1.3 accidental discharge device, ndevice specificallydesigned to be installed on an airsoft gun to prevent theaccidental discharge of air soft projectiles.3.1.4 ear canal, nasal and oral cavity protection, ndeviceor devices that cover the ear canal, nas

11、al or oral cavities andprevent direct entry of airsoft projectiles into these areas.3.1.5 game area, narea in which airsoft games are con-ducted and in which eye protection suitable for airsoft gameplay is required to be worn.3.1.6 goggles, neye protection device suitable for use inair soft games.3.

19、.3.1.12.1 DiscussionThe device is sometimes referred to asa safety, safety button, or safety lever. An electronic on/offswitch is considered to be a safety mechanism if, when theswitch is placed in the off position, it renders the guninoperable.3.1.13 staging area, narea protected against stray entr

20、y ofair soft projectiles, in which air soft players organize them-selves prior to a game.4. Significance and Use4.1 Specific safety rules and procedures are important inorder to minimize the risk of injury to persons in the generalarea of air soft guns.5. General Considerations5.1 Persons who partic

21、ipate in air soft games should bemade aware of the hazards associated with the equipment andthe game activities.5.2 This standard specifies the minimum requirements for aplayer safety briefing. Air soft game organizers may choose toinclude additional safety instructions in their briefing to play-ers

22、.5.3 Any person permitted into an area requiring goggles beworn must be given the relevant portions of this safety briefingbefore being allowed in the area.6. Safety Instructions for Air Soft Game Participants6.1 GogglesAll persons shall be required to wear an eyeprotective device at all times while

23、 they are in areas designatedas “goggles on areas.” As no standard exists for air soft eyeprotective devices at this time all eye protective devices shallbe subject to the approval of the game operator and meets oneof the following:6.1.1 An eye protective device which meets ANSI Z87.1requirements an

24、d is manufactured and advertised by themanufacturer as suitable for use in air soft game activity. Thisprotector must have a solid lens material used in the construc-tion rather than a screen or other similar material.6.1.2 Meet Specification F1776.6.2 Goggle Safety:6.2.1 Goggles should be inspected

25、 for cracks and to becertain the goggle lens is properly secured by the lens retentionsystem.6.2.2 Goggles should be checked to be sure they fit snugly.6.2.3 Every person must wear goggles at all times, when heor she is not in a safe area.6.2.4 While in a goggles-on area, a person must never lift or

26、remove his or her goggles for any reason.6.2.5 Any person whose vision is impaired/obscured, shouldhold his or her goggles securely in place and call out forassistance from a referee, safety official, or teammate to helpget off the field safely.6.2.6 In the event a persons goggles are knocked off,da

27、maged, or displaced, that person should set their gun down,drop to the ground, cover their eyes, and call out that theirgoggles have fallen off and to stop shooting. Everyone whohears this should immediately stop shooting, put their gundown, and stop playing, until a referee has arrived, the playerw

28、ith the goggle problem has been taken off the field, and thereferee announces that the game can resume.6.2.7 Just because a person is eliminated from a game doesNOT mean that person can remove his or her goggles. Gogglesmust not be removed until the person wearing them is in adesignated safe area. G

29、oggles must always stay on, until anaccidental discharge device is securely in place.6.3 All persons shall be required to wear adequate protec-tion to limit entry of airsoft pellets into the ear canal.6.4 It is recommended that all persons wear additionalprotective device(s) which limit the entry of

30、 airsoft projectilesinto the nasal and oral cavity.6.5 Accidental Discharge DeviceAn accidental dischargedevice must be securely in place any time you are not in ashooting zone or on a playing field, and at any time when areferee or other official has ordered barrel blocking devices tobe used.6.6 Ev

31、ery airsoft guns velocity must be checked before thefirst time it goes onto the playing field, and should be checkedagain as needed throughout the playing day.6.6.1 The velocity at which an airsoft gun is shooting mustbe measured by use of a chronograph as defined in subsection4.7 of Practice F2940.

32、6.6.2 Airsoft gun velocities must conform to Table 1 inPractice F2940.6.6.3 Players will be advised of the minimum engagementdistance for each gun they use in play.6.6.4 A referee or other game official may require a velocitycheck of any airsoft gun at any time for any reason.6.7 Every airsoft game

33、participant renting equipment mustreceive instructions on, or demonstrate an understanding of,how the rental equipment works and how to use it properly.This lesson must include but is not limited to the following:6.7.1 How to load and unload the airsoft gun,6.7.2 How to use each safety device on the

34、 airsoft gun,whether mechanical or electronic,6.7.3 How to use the accidental discharge device on theairsoft gun,6.7.4 How to properly put on and adjust the goggle system.F2941 13 (2017)26.8 Emergency ProceduresParticipates shall be informedof what to do in case of an emergency.7.
