Scope*1.1 This specification2covers chromium, chromium-nickel,and chromium-manganese-nickel stainless steel plate, sheet,and strip for pressure vessels and for general applicationsincluding architectural, building, construction, and aestheticapplications.1.2 The values stated i

4、n either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.3 This s

5、pecification is expressed in both inch-pound andSI units. However, unless the order specifies the applicable“M” specification designation (SI units), the material shall befurnished in inch-pound units.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with it

Chemical Composition4.1 The steel shall conform to

16、the requirements as tochemical composition specified in Table 1 and shall conform toapplicable requirements specified in Specification A480/A480M.5. Mechanical Properties5.1 The material shall conform to the mechanical propertiesspecified in Table 2.5.2 When specified by the purchaser, Charpy impact

17、 testsshall be performed in accordance with Supplementary Require-ment S1.6. Materials for High-Temperature Service6.1 The austenitic H Types shall conform to an averagegrain size of ASTM No. 7 or coarser as measured by TestMethods E112.6.2 Supplementary Requirement S2 shall be invoked whennon-H gra

18、de austenitic stainless steels are ordered for ASMECode applications for service above 1000F 540C.6.3 Grade S31060, unless otherwise specified in the pur-chase order, shall conform to an average grain size of ASTMNo. 7 or coarser, as measured by Test Methods E112.7.
