、rof original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification2covers austenitic ductile iron, Typ

、eD-2M, Classes 1 and 2, for compressors, expanders, pumps, valves, and other pressure-containing parts intended primarilyfor low-temperature service.1.2 These grades of austenitic ductile iron are characterizedby having their graphite substantially in a spheroidal form andfree of flake graphite. They

、 are essentially free of carbides andcontain sufficient alloy content to produce a stable austeniticmatrix down to 423F 252C (liquid hydrogen).1.3 The values stated in either inch-pound or SI units are tobe regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the SI unitsare shown in brackets. The valu

、es stated in each system are notexact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used inde-pendently of the other. Combining values from the two systemsmay result in nonconformance with the specification.1.4 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to thetest methods portion, Section 11, o

、f this specification: Thisstandard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns,if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the userof this standard to establish appropriate safety and healthpractices and determine the applicability of regulatory limita-tions prior to use.
