Scope*1.1 This specification covers one grade of nickel oxidesinter, designated as 75 used for alloying in iron and steelmelting.2. Referenced Documents2.1 ASTM Standards:

General Conditions for Delivery3.1 Materials furnished to this specification shall conform tothe requirements of Specification A 1025, including anysupplementary requirements that are indicated in the purchaseo

4、rder. Failure to comply with the general requirements ofSpecification A 1025 constitutes nonconformance with thisspecification. In case of conflict between the requirements ofthis specification and Specification A 1025, this specificationshall prevail.4. Chemical Requirements4.1 The chemical require

5、ments are shown in Table 1.5. Sampling for Chemical Analysis5.1 The material shall be sampled in accordance withprocedures outlined below:5.1.1 The sample shall be taken by cutting across the entirestream at regular intervals during the time of movement of themass being sampled. The quantity to be t

6、aken at each intervaland the number of such intervals shall be so proportioned thatthe total quantity taken shall amount to not less than 0.40 % ofthe total material being sampled.5.2 Treatment of Sample:5.2.1 In the case of nickel oxide sinter 75, the samplerepresenting each shipment or lot shall b

7、e reduced in amountusing a riffle splitter or other suitable mechanical splitter to1000 g. This 1000-g sample shall be placed in an oven at 250F(121C) for12 h to remove any traces of moisture, and thenpulverized to pass an 80-mesh screen using appropriate equip-ment to avoid sample contamination. Ap

8、proximately 250 g ofthis pulverized material shall be split out for copper and sulfurassays, using a riffle splitter or other suitable mechanicalsplitter. The unused portion of individual shipment (or lot)samples whose copper and sulphur assays are within specifi-cation shall be combined by weight i

9、nto two, three, or four lotcomposites. Approximately 250 g of the composited materialshall be split out, using a riffle splitter or other suitablemechanical splitter and analyzed for nickel. This nickel analy-sis shall apply to each shipment (or lot) comprising thecomposite.6. Keywords6.1 nickel; ni
