Scope*1.1 This

4、, B411/B411M,B441, B453/B453M, B455, B570, B927, and B967/B967M tothe extent referenced therein.1.2 The chemical composition, physical and mechanicalproperties, and all other requirements not included in thisspecification are prescribed in the product specification.1.3 The values stated in either SI

5、 units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.3.1 Within the text

Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 bar, na solid rectangular section, or one withtwo-plane parallel surfaces and round or other simple regularlyshaped finished edges, up to and including 12 in. 300 mm inwidth and over 0.188 in. 5 mm in thickness fur

24、nished instraight lengths or in rolls and with finished edges, eitherrolled, drawn, or extruded.3.1.2 bus conductor stock, na bar, rod, or shape of highconductivity copper used to make electrical conductors.3.1.2.1 bus bar, nof solid or square cross section or a solidsection with two plane parallel

25、surfaces and round or othersimple regular shaped edges.3.1.2.2 bus rod, nsolid round and regular polygons of sixand eight sides.3.1.2.3 bus shape, na solid section other than regular rod,bar, plate, sheet, strip, or flat wire, and may be of oval, halfoval, half round, triangular, pentagonal, or of a

26、ny special crosssection.3.1.3 capable of, adjpossessing the required properties orcharacteristics, or both, necessary to conform to specificationrequirement(s) when subjected to specified test(s).3.1.4 coil, na length of the product wound into a series ofconnected turns. The unqualified term as appl

27、ied to “flat wire”refers to a coil in which the product is spirally wound, with thesuccessive layers one atop the other (sometimes called a“roll”).3.1.4.1 coil, level or traverse wound, na coil in which theturns are positioned into layers parallel to the axis of the coilsuch that successive turns in

28、 a given layer are next to oneanother.3.1.4.2 coil, level or traverse wound on a reel or spool, nacoil in which the turns are positioned into layers on a reel orspool parallel to the axis of the reel or spool such thatsuccessive turns in a given layer are next to one another.3.1.4.3 coil, stagger wo

29、und, na coil in which the turns arepositioned into layers approximately parallel to the axis of thecoil, but not necessarily with the fixed regularity of a level ortraverse wound coil.3.1.5 length, nstraight pieces of the product.3.1.5.1 lengths, ends, nstraight pieces, shorter than thenominal lengt

30、h, left over after cutting the product into milllengths, stock lengths, or specific lengths. They are subject tominimum length and maximum weight requirements.3.1.5.2 lengths, mill, nstraight lengths, including ends,that can be conveniently manufactured in the mill. Full lengthpieces are usually 10

31、or 12 ft 3000 or 3600 mm.3.1.5.3 lengths, multiple, nstraight lengths of integralmultiples of a base length, with suitable allowance for cuttingwhen specified.3.1.5.4 lengths, specific, nstraight lengths that are uni-form in length, as specified, and subject to established lengthtolerances.3.1.5.5 l

They are usually 10 or 12 ft3000 or

33、3600 mm and subject to established length toler-ances.3.1.5.7 lengths, stock with ends, nstock lengths, includingends.3.1.6 reel or spool, na cylindrical device that has a rim ateach end and an axial hole for a shaft or spindle, and on whichthe product is wound to facilitate handling and shipping.3.

34、1.7 rod, na round, regular hexagonal, or regular octago-nal solid section furnished in straight lengths (a regularhexagonal or a regular octagonal rod is a solid section havingequal sides and equal angles).3.1.7.1 rod, piston finish, na round rod having a specialsurface produced by turning or grindi

35、ng to close tolerances fordiameter and straightness.3.1.7.2 rod, shafting, na round rod specially manufac-tured to the close straightness tolerances required for use inshafting.3.1.8 shape, na solid section other than regular rod, bar,plate, sheet, strip, or flat wire, and may be of oval, half oval,

36、half round, triangular, pentagonal, or of any special crosssection furnished in straight lengths.3.1.9 unaided eye, adjvisual inspection without the use ofspecial equipment or enhancement excepting the use of cor-rective lenses.3.2 For other terms not referenced herein, see TerminologyB846.4. Materi

37、als and Manufacture4.1 Materials:4.1.1 The materials shall conform to the published compo-sitional requirements of the Copper or Copper Alloy UNS No.designation specified in the ordering information.4.1.2 In the event heat identification or traceability isrequired, the purchaser shall specify the de

38、tails desired.NOTE 2Because of the discontinuous nature of the processing ofcastings into wrought products, it is not always practical to identifyspecific casting analysis with a specific quantity of finished material.4.2 ManufactureThe product shall be produced by hotworking, cold working, or both,

39、 and finished by such coldworking, annealing or heat treatment and straightening as maybe necessary to meet the properties specified.4.2.1 EdgesThe edge shall be drawn, extruded, or rolled;refer to Edge Contours in Section 6.5. Chemical Composition5.1 The material of manufacture shall conform to the

40、compositional requirements prescribed in the product specifi-cation.5.1.1 When a product (check) sample is analyzed by thepurchaser, the material shall conform to the compositionalrequirements within the permitted analytical variance given inthe product specification.5.2 The composition limits estab

41、lished for the Copper orCopper Alloy UNS No. designation specified in the productspecification does not preclude the presence of other elements.Limits may be established and analysis required for unnamedelements by agreement between the manufacturer or supplierand the purchaser.5.3 When material com

42、position has been determined duringthe course of manufacture, analysis of the finished product bythe manufacturer is not required.6. Dimensions, Mass and Permissible Variations6.1 GeneralFor the purpose of determining conformancewith the dimensional requirements, any measured value out-side the spec

43、ified limiting values for any dimension may because for rejection.NOTE 3Blank spaces in the tolerance tables indicate either that thematerial generally is not available or that no tolerances are established.6.2 Diameter or Distance Between Parallel SurfacesThediameter of round sections or the distan
