Scope*1.1 This specification covers requirements for copp

3、er alloysand castings for general applications. Nominal compositionsof the alloys defined by this specification are shown in Table1.2This is a composite specification replacing former docu-ments as shown in Table 1.NOTE 1Other copper alloy castings are included in the followingASTM specifications: B

33、spection (Specification B 824), and5.2.7 Product marking (Specification B 824).6. Manufacture6.1 Copper alloy UNS Nos. C94700 and C96800 may besupplied in the heat treated condition to obtain the highermechanical properties shown in Table 2. Suggested heattreatments for these alloys are given in Tab

34、le 3. Actual practicemay vary by manufacturer.6.2 Separately cast test bar coupons representing castingsmade in copper alloy UNS Nos. C94700HT and C96800HTshall be heat treated with the castings.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The castings shall conform to the compositional require-ments for named elemen

35、ts as shown in Table 4 for the copperalloy UNS numbers specified in the purchase order.7.2 These specification limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. Limits may be established and analysisrequired for unnamed elements agreed upon between manu-facturer or supplier and purchaser. Copper

36、 or zinc, when zincis 20 % or greater, may be given as remainder and may betaken as the difference between the sum of all elementsanalyzed and 100 %. When all named elements in Table 4 areanalyzed, their sum shall be as specified in Table 5.7.3 It is recognized that residual elements may be present

37、incast copper alloys. Analysis shall be made for residual ele-ments only when specified in the purchase order.8. Mechanical Properties8.1 Mechanical properties shall be determined from sepa-rately cast test bar castings, and shall meet the requirementsshown in Table 2.9. Casting Repair9.1 The castin

38、gs shall not be weld repaired without approvalof the purchaser (5.2.3).9.2 The castings shall not be impregnated without approvalof the purchaser (5.2.3).10. ASME Requirements10.1 When specified in the purchase order to meet ASMEBoiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements, castings incopper alloy U

39、NS Nos.
