Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers shaped wire compactconcentric-lay-stranded aluminum conducto

3、rs, steel supported(ACSS/TW) for use as overhead electrical conductors (seeExplanatory Note 1).1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered

4、 standard.1.2.1 ExceptionsFor conductor sizes designated by AWGor kcmil sizes, the requirements in SI units are numericallyconverted from the corresponding requirements in inch-poundunits. For conductor sizes designation by AWG or kcmil, therequirements in SI units have been numerically converted fr

5、omcorresponding values stated or derived in inch-pound units. Forconductor sizes designated by SI units only, the requirementsare stated or derived in SI units. For density, resistivity, andtemperature, the values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard.1.3 ACSS/TWis designed to increase th

6、e aluminum area fora given diameter of conductor by the use of trapezoidal shapedwires (TW). The conductors consist of a central core of roundsteel wire(s) surrounded by two or more layers of trapezoidalaluminum 1350-0 wires. Different strandings of the same sizeof conductor are identified by type,

7、which is the approximateratio of steel area to aluminum area expressed in percent (seeTable 1, Table 2, and Table 3). For the purpose of thisspecification, the sizes listed in Table 1 and Table 2 aretabulated on the basis of the finished conductor having an areaor outside diameter equal to that of s

8、pecified sizes of standardACSR, ACSS, and ACSR/TW so as to facilitate conductorselection.2.
