Scope1.1 This specification covers non-asbestos fiber-mat rein-forced cement substrate sheets manufactured to be dimension-ally stab

3、le and suitable as either an unfinished substrate (seeNote 1) or as a substrate for decoration such as natural stone ortile on walls, floors, or decks in wet and dry areas.NOTE 1When used as an unfinished substrate, consult the manufac-turers written installation literature for proper application de

4、tails.1.2 This specification is not applicable to asbestos-cementflat sheets (Specification C 220); non-asbestos fiber cement flatsheets for exterior applications such as claddings, facades,curtain walls, and soffits (Specification C 1186); gypsum back-ing board, coreboard, and shaftliner (Specifica

Composit

17、ion and Manufacture5.1 CompositionThis specification is applicable tofiber-mat reinforced non-asbestos cement substrate sheets con-sisting essentially of an inorganic hydraulic binder or a calciumsilicate binder formed by the chemical reaction of a siliceousmaterial and a calcareous material, reinfo

18、rced by fiber-matmade of organic fibers, inorganic non-asbestos fibers, or both.NOTE 3Process aids, fillers, pigments, and other fibers that arecompatible with the fiber-mat cement may be added.5.2 ManufactureThese products are formed either with orwithout pressure and cured, either under natural or

19、 acceleratedconditions, to meet the property requirements of this specifi-cation.6. Mechanical and Physical Properties6.1 Mechanical and physical properties shall be determinedon an uncoated product wherever practical. Where the productsare supplied coated, this material shall also be tested with th

20、eresults identified as applying to coated material.6.2 SamplingObtain 5 samples of the particular cementsubstrate sheet to be tested from a commercial lot of not lessthan 50 000 ft2to conduct the tests described in this specifi-cation.6.3 Mechanical Properties:6.3.1 Flexural StrengthWhen tested in a

21、ccordance withTest Method C 947, flexural strength shall be not less than 750psi (5170 kPa).6.3.2 Sheets shall be tested and specified in both the wet andequilibrium conditions and shall meet the minimum wet andminimum equilibrium flexural strength requirements.NOTE 4When sampled from continuous pro

22、duction, these tests maybe conducted on dry, equilibrium, or saturated specimens, provided arelationship can be established between this testing and the specifiedvalues.6.4 Physical Properties:6.4.1 DensityNominal values and tolerances for densityshall be stated by the manufacturer for each of the p

23、roducts.When tested in accordance with the test method specified inTest Methods C 1185, the value for the density shall complywith the value stated by the manufacturer.6.4.2 Modulus of ElasticityValues for the modulus ofelasticity shall be stated by the manufacturer for each of theproducts. When tes

24、ted in accordance with Test Method C 947,the value for modulus of elasticity shall comply with the valuestated by the manufacturer. (mm),d = thickness of specimen, in. (mm), andL = span, in. (mm).7. Dimensions and Tolerances7.1 Method of MeasurementThe method

26、 of measurementshall be in accordance with Test Methods C 473.7.2 Nominal Length and WidthFiber-mat reinforced sub-strate sheets are typically supplied in nominal lengths of 48 in.(1219 mm), 60 in. (1524 mm), 72 in. (1828 mm), 84 in. (2134mm), 96 in. (2438 mm) and nominal widths of 48 in. (1219mm),

27、36 in. (914 mm), and 32 in. (811 mm).7.3 Nominal ThicknessFiber-mat reinforced substratesheets are normally available in thicknesses of14 in. (6 mm) to58 in. (16 mm), although thicknesses outside of this range arenot prohibited from being supplied.7.4 Length and Width ToleranceThe tolerance from the

28、nominal value shall be 618 in. (3 mm).7.5 Thickness ToleranceThe maximum difference be-tween extreme values of the thickness measurement within asheet shall not exceed 0.03 in. (0.8 mm). Thickness variationfrom sheet to sheet shall not exceed 0.03 in. (0.8 mm).7.6 Squareness ToleranceThe length of t

29、he diagonalsshall not vary by more than132 in./ft (2.6 mm/m) of the lengthof the sheets. Opposite sides of the sheet shall not vary inlength by more than132 in./ft (2.6 mm/m).7.7 Edge Straightness ToleranceThe sheet edges shall bestraight within132 in./ft (2.6 mm/m) of length or width.8. Workmanship

30、8.1 Workmanship Sheets shall be free of defects that willimpair erection, use, or serviceability.9. Inspection and Acceptance9.1 Inspection of material, if required, shall be at the pointof shipment. The inspector representing the purchaser shallhave authorized access to the carriers being loaded fo

31、r ship-ment to the purchaser. The purchaser shall be afforded allreasonable and available facilities at the point of shipment forsampling and inspection of the material, which shall beconducted so as not to interfere unnecessarily with the loadingof the carriers.9.2 Third party certification, either

32、 continuous or at regularintervals, shall be recognized as an alternative to lot inspection.9.3 Failure to conform to any one of the requirements of thisspecification shall constitute grounds for nonacceptance.10. Product Marking10.1 IdentificationProduct marking shall include trade-mark, type of pr

33、oduct (A or B), or other means of identificationthat ensures that the manufacturer and product type can beidentified. The method of marking shall be stated in themanufacturers catalog.C132504211. Packaging and Storage11.1 Commercial PackagingFlat sheets shall be packagedso as to prevent damage durin

34、g shipment.11.2 StorageFlat sheets shall be stacked on supports thatwill keep the sheets level and flat. Supplementary TestsS1.1 Supplementary tests for fiber-mat reinforced substratesheets shall consist of once only supplementary test, with themanufacturers statement of results provided upon customersrequest. Fundamental changes in formulation or methods o

38、fmanufacture, or both, shall require the subsequent retesting ofthe supplementary tests.S1.2 Supplementary tests shall be determined on uncoatedproduct wherever practical. Where fiber-mat reinforced sub-strate sheets are supplied coated, this material shall also betested with the results identified

41、tioned at 50 6 5 % relative humidity and atemperature of 73 6 4F (23 6 2C) in accordance with TestMethod C 1185.S1.3.2 Moisture MovementThe linear variation withchange in moisture content shall be stated as the percentagechange in length based on a relative humidity change from 30% to 90 % in accord

42、ance with Test Method D 1037. The linearvariation with change shall be less than or equal to 0.07 %. Forthe purpose of this test, obtain 5 samples of the particularcement substrate sheet to be tested from a commercial lot ofnot less than 50 000 ft2.S1.3.3 Warm Water ResistanceThe specimens, whentest

43、ed in accordance with Test Method C 1185, shall not showvisible cracks or structural alteration such as to affect theirperformance in use. The ratio of the average strengths ascalculated from test results shall not be less than 70 %.S1.3.4 Surface Burning CharacteristicsWhen utilized asa finished su

44、bstrate without decoration, fiber-mat reinforcedcement substrate sheets shall have a reported flame spreadindex of 10 or less and a smoke developed index of not morethan 5 when tested in accordance with Test Method E 84. Testsshall be conducted on samples that have been cured for 28 daysin a control

45、led atmosphere of 73 6 4F (23 6 2C) and 50 65 % relative humidity.S1.3.5 Shear Bond Strength (Dry-Set Portland CementMortar)Fiber-mat reinforced cement substrate sheets testedin accordance with ANSI A118.1 fiber-mat reinforced cementsubstrate sheet to fiber-mat reinforced cement substrate sheet)shal

46、l demonstrate a minimum shear bond strength at 7 daycuring of 50 psi (345 kPa).S1.3.6 Shear Bond Strength (Latex-Portland CementMortar)Fiber-mat reinforced cement substrate sheets testedin accordance with ANSI A118.4 (fiber-mat reinforced cementsubstrate sheet to fiber-mat reinforced cement substrat

47、e sheet)shall demonstrate a minimum shear bond strength at 7 daycuring of 50 psi (345 kPa).S1.3.7 Shear Bond Strength (Organic Adhesives Type1)Fiber-mat reinforced cement substrate sheets tested inaccordance with ANSI A136.1 (fiber-mat reinforced cementsubstrate sheet to fiber-mat reinforced cement

(13 mm) thickness shall have aminimum saturated nail-head pull through resistance of 125 lb(560 N), when tested in ac

49、cordance with Test Method D 1037utilizing a roofing nail with a 0.375 in. (10 mm) diameter headand a shank diameter of 0.121 in. (3 mm).S1.3.9 Mold ResistanceWhen tested in accordance withPractice G 21, samples shall show an observed growth rating of0.S1.3.10 Compression IndentationWhen tested in accor-dance with Test Method D 2394, samples shall show a valuegreater than 1250 psi (8620 kPa) at less than 0.05 in. (1.3 mm).S1.3.11 Falling Ball ImpactWhen tested in accordancewith Test Method D 1037, samples shall show no damage totop or b
