3、tion covers limestone supplied for use as amineral supplement in animal feeds.NOTE 1The calcium needed for animal nutrition is customarilysupplied by limestone. Chemical Requirements5.1 Limestone, as identified on feed labels, shall conform tothe chemical requirements given in Table 1.6. Test Methods7.1 Chemical AnalysisUnless otherwise agreed upon be-tween the purchaser and the manufacturer, the chemical analy-sis of the limestone shall be conducted in accordance with TestMethods C25.7.2 Particle SizeUnless otherwise agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the
9、manufacturer, the sieve analysis of thematerial shall be determined in accordance with Test MethodsC110.7.2.1 ProcedureIf the entire sample is not to be dried,obtain lesser portions by riffling or quartering. Dry at between115 to 120 C to a constant mass and cool to room temperature.Obtain a 90 to 1
10、20-g dry sample by riffling or quartering. If thematerial tends to cake, break up the agglomerates with a softrubber pestle. Quantitatively transfer the weighed sample to an8-in. diameter standard sieve or set of sieves (for example,Nos. 10, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 or other appropriate combi-nation
11、conforming to Specification E11). Conduct the sieveanalysis in accordance with Test Methods C 110.8.
