Spotting media shall be observed to becompletely removed from specimens when tested in accor-dance with 7.8.2 and 7.8.3 and then viewed from a distance of10 ft (3 m) under an illumination of
18、 not less than 50footcandles (538.2 lm/m2) by an observer with normal vision.5.8 ReportTest reports shall show the results of testsrequired by 5.1 through 5.7.6. Dimensional Tolerances6.1 Face DimensionThe total variation from specifieddimensions in the finished face dimensions of the units shallnot
19、 exceed 6116 in. (1.6 mm) from specified dimensions.6.2 DistortionThe distortion of the plane and edges of theface of individual units from the corresponding plane surfaceand edges of the concrete masonry unit shall not exceed116 in.(1.6 mm).7. Sampling and Testing7.1 The purchaser or authorized rep
20、resentative shall beaccorded proper facilities to inspect and sample the prefacedconcrete masonry units at the place of manufacture from thelots ready for delivery.7.2 CrazingResistance to crazing of prefaced concretemasonry units shall be determined by oven drying from asaturated condition in accor
21、dance with 13.2 of Test MethodsC 140, allowing the specimen to cool to room temperature, andresaturating.7.3 Resistance to ChemicalsApply a convenient quantityof the chemicals, as shown in Table 1, one at a time on thefacing material and leave covered with a watchglass for theduration of the test pe
22、riod. For volatile chemicals, place asaturated wad under the watchglass and keep saturated. Uponcompletion of the test period, wipe the test area clean with aclean cloth. The condition of the test area shall show no changeafter testing with each chemical for the specified time pre-scribed in Table 1
23、.7.4 Adhesion of FacingTest three prefaced concrete ma-sonry units for compressive strength in accordance with TestMethods C 140.Apply the compressive load until failure of theentire unit occurs. When viewed without magnification, thereshall be no visible failure of the adhesion of the facing materi
24、alto the concrete masonry unit at the time of failure of the entireprefaced concrete masonry unit.7.5 AbrasionDetermine the wear index in accordancewith Test Method C 501 using Taber Abraser Research Model503 with a Taber CS-17 abrasive wheel and a 1000-g weightfor 500 wear cycles.7.6 Surface Burnin
25、gDetermine flame spread and smokeratings in accordance with Test Method E84.7.7 Color ChangeDetermine color difference using CIEL*, a*, b*, or CIELAB (1976) with two-degree observer,illuminant C, and specular excluded in accordance with TestMethod D 2244. Take measurements before and after 500 h ofa
26、ccelerated weathering using the single-arc apparatus in accor-dance with Practice D 822. Use test panels not less than 3 in.(76.2 mm) wide by 6 in. (152.4 mm) long. Test panels need notbe conditioned.7.8 Soiling and Cleansability:7.8.1 Staining MediaPour a stain consisting of 0.5 g ofoil-soluble dye
27、 (C.I. Solvent Orange 7, C.I. 12140), 1.0 g oflanolin, and 5.0 g of SAE 10 oil one at a time on an areaapproximately12 in. (12.7 mm) in diameter on the preface sideof units. Allow the stain to remain on the specimens for aperiod of 4 days. Clean the specimen for 80 cycles inaccordance with Test Meth
28、od D 2486 using an industrial-gradecleaning agent. Inspection8.1 All prefaced concrete masonry units shall be sound andfree of cracks
34、 or other defects that interfere with the properplacing of the units or impair the strength or permanence of theconstruction.8.2 SurfaceThe coated surface shall be free of chips,crazes, cracks, blisters, crawling, holes, and other imperfec-tions detracting from the appearance of the units when viewe
35、dfrom a distance of 5 ft (1.5 m) perpendicular to the coatedsurface and using daylight without direct sunlight.9. Compliance9.1 If a sample fails to conform to the specified require-ments, the manufacturer shall be permitted to remove unitsfrom the shipment. A new sample shall be selected by thepurc
36、haser from remaining units from the shipment with asimilar configuration and dimension and tested at the expenseof the manufacturer. If the second sample meets the specifiedrequirements, the remaining portion of the shipment repre-sented by the sample meets the specified requirements. If thesecond s
