5、n this standard shall be inaccordance with Terminology C11.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 Welded wire lath shall be fabricated from not less than0.0625 in. (1.588 mm), cold-drawn, galvanized steel wire,conforming to Specification A 641/A 641M.4.1.1 The wire shall be zinc-coated (galvanized) in acco
6、r-dance with Specification A 641/A 641M.4.1.2 The backing shall conform to Federal SpecificationUU-B-790. The backing shall be either absorptive or waterresistant. The backing shall have a bursting strength of not lessthan that required to maintain integrity under normal hand- ormachine-application
7、pressures.4.1.3 The backing shall be attached to the lath to preventaccidental removal during shipping, handling or installation.Attachment of the backing shall allow lapping of wire-to-wireand backing-to-backing of not less than one mesh at ends andedges and shall permit full embedment, in not less
8、 than14 in.(6 mm) of plaster, of not less than one-half of the total lengthand width of the wire.4.1.4 The thickness of the embedment of the lath and plastershall be measured from the back plane of the back wire,exclusive of furring, to the backing or surface of the substrate.5. Dimensions and Permi
9、ssible Variations5.1 Openings and Stiffening:5.1.1 Lath shall be welded at all intersections of wire toform openings not more than 2 in. (51 mm) by 2 in. (51 mm).5.1.2 Heavy-duty lath shall be stiffened continuously andparallel to the long dimension of the lath at intervals of notmore than 6 in. (15
10、2 mm). Wire stiffeners used for this purposeshall range from 15-gauge (0.072 in.) to 11-gauge (0.1205 in.).The weight per square yard shall range from 1.14 to 1.95lb/yd2(0.618 to 1.058 kg/m2) for the heavy-duty lath.5.1.3 Self-furring crimps on self-furring lath shall projectnot less than14 in. (6.4
11、 mm) from the plane of the back of thelath.5.2 ThicknessThe nominal thickness shall be18 in. (3.2mm), exclusive of self-furring crimps, with a permissiblevariation of 6132 in. (0.8 mm).5.3 WidthThe nominal width shall be 28 in. (710 mm) to54 in. (1370 mm), with a permissible variation of 634 in. (19
12、mm).5.4 LengthThe minimum length shall be 48 in. (1220mm) for sheets or a maximum of 150 ft (45.720 m) for rollswith a permissible variation of 634 in. (19 mm) for sheets orrolls.5.5 WeightThe nominal weight, exclusive of backing,shall be from 1.14 to 1.95 lb/yd2(0.618 to 1.058 kg/m2).Permissible va

Sampling6.1 When specified by the purchase agreement, samples ofwelded wire lath shall be taken at the place of manufacture orat the place of destination. If
17、 samples are taken at thedestination, such samples shall be taken within 24 h of thereceipt of the material.6.2 At least 0.25 % of the number of sheets of welded wirelath in a shipment, but not less than three sheets, shall be soselected as to be representative of the shipment and shallconstitute a
18、sample for the purpose of tests by the purchaser oruser.7. Inspection7.1 Inspection of the welded wire lath shall be agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the producer or supplier as part ofthe purchase agreement.8. Rejection8.1 Rejection of welded wire lath that fails to conform to therequirements o
19、f the specification shall be reported to theproducer or supplier promptly and in writing. The notice ofrejection shall contain a statement documenting how thewelded wire lath has failed to conform to the requirements ofthe specification.9. Packaging and Package Marking9.1 Welded wire lath shall be p
20、ackaged in bundles or rolls.9.2 Unless otherwise required by the purchase agreement,lath shall have legibly marked thereon the following: theproduct description; the name of the producer or seller; thebrand name (if any); and the ASTM designation for theproduct.9.2.1 Each bundle or roll of lath with
21、 no backing shall bemarked with metal or paper tags securely attached to thebundles or rolls.9.2.2 Each sheet of lath with backing shall be marked on thebacking material.10.
