Scope*1.1 This specification covers two types of aromatic hydro-

3、carbon solvents, normally petroleum distillates, having highflash points, moderately low volatility, and a distillation rangeof approximately 30C (50F). These solvents are used prima-rily by the coatings industry and are commonly referred to ashigh-flash aromatic naphthas.1.2 The values stated in SI

4、 units are to be regarded as thestandard. The values given in parentheses are for informationonly.1.3 The following applies to all specified limits in thisstandard; for purposes of determining conformance with thisstandard, an observed value or a calculated value shall berounded off “to the nearest

Classification3.1 High-flash aromatic naphthas shall be of the followingtypes, as specified:3.1.1 Type IAromatic 100 (Note 1), having a flash pointnot less than 38C

11、(100F).3.1.2 Type IIAromatic 150 (Note 2), having a flash pointnot less than 61C (142F).NOTE 1Aromatic 100 consists primarily of C9aromatic hydrocar-bons.NOTE 2Aromatic 150 consists primarily of C10aromatic hydrocar-bons.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee D01 on Paintand

15、 Properties4.1 The physical and chemical properties of high-flasharomatic naphthas shall conform to the requirements specifiedin Table 1.5. Sampling5.1 The material shall be sampled in accordance withPractice E300.6. Test Methods6.1 The properties enumerated in this specification shall bedetermined

16、in accordance with the following ASTM testmethods (see Guide D268):6.1.1 AromaticsTest Method D1319.6.1.2 ColorTest Method D156 (Saybolt color) or TestMethod D1209 (platinum-cobalt scale). In case of dispute, theSaybolt color limit is controlling.6.1.3 CorrosionTest Method D849.6.1.4 DistillationTes
