Classification4.1 The types of po
8、zzolanic blended materials covered bythis specification are an intimate and uniform blend of two ormore of the following materials: Type F Class F fly ash; TypeC Class C fly ash; Type CKD Cement kiln dust; Type S ground granulated blast furnace slag; Type SF Silica fume;Type M Metakaolin.4.2 The ble
9、nded pozzolan shall be labeled in order ofhighest mass of materials. For example, a 60 % by mass ClassF fly ash with 30 % by mass slag and 10 % by mass cement kilndust would be termed Type FSCKD.5. Ordering Information5.1 Include the following information in orders for blendedpozzolan meeting the re
10、quirements of this specification:5.1.1 The specification designation ASTM SpecificationD5370,5.1.2 The specification date, if other than the latest pub-lished version,5.1.3 The quantity of blended pozzolan desired, and theclassification desired,5.1.4 A statement as to specific requirements or intend

Materials and Manufacturer6.1 The pozzolanic blended material is the result of anintimate and uniform blend.NOTE 1The attainment of an intimate and uniform blend of two typesof fine material is difficu
12、lt. Consequently, adequate equipment andcontrols must be provided by the manufacturer. The purchaser shouldensure himself of the adequacy of the blending operation. 17、618. The purchaser will specify the mineraladmixture class (in Specification C618). Carbon may substitutefor loss on ignition requirement. The percentage of carbon orloss on ignition is determined by the procedure in the sectionon test methods.9. Sampling9.1 Sample the blended pozzolan in accordance
18、 with therequirements of Test Methods C311.10. Test Methods10.1 Blended Pozzolans for Use With LimeUse test meth-ods as required in Specification C593.10.2 Blended Pozzolans for Use in ConcreteUse testmethods as required in Test Methods C311 with the followingexception:10.2.1 Determination of Loss o
19、n Ignition (Corrected forCO2) of Type FCKD Blended PozzolanThis test methodcorrects for the presence of carbon dioxide. Ignite the oven-dried blended pozzolan in a muffle furnace at a controlledtemperature. Determine total loss on ignition according to TestMethods C311 except use platinum crucibles
20、and ignite at atemperature of 950 6 50C. Calculate total loss on ignitionaccording to Test Methods C311. The total loss in weight isassumed to be CO2, C, and any chemically combined water.10.2.1.1 Determine carbon dioxide on an oven-dried sampleof blended pozzolan according to Test Methods C25. Some
21、blended pozzolans may have negligible amounts of carbondioxide.10.2.1.2 Report loss on ignition (corrected for CO2) forblended pozzolan as the difference between total loss onignition and carbon dioxide. Thus, the percentage loss onignition (corrected for CO2) = the percentage total loss onignition
22、minus percentage carbon dioxide.10.2.2 Determination of carbon (corrected for CO2)inblended pozzolan is an acceptable alternative to loss onignition (corrected for CO2).10.2.2.1 Determine total carbon on an oven-dried sample ofblended pozzolan according to Test Methods C25.10.2.2.2 Determine carbon
23、dioxide on an oven-dried sampleof blended pozzolan according to Test Methods C25. Reportcarbon corrected for CO2for blended pozzolan as the differ-ence between total carbon and carbon dioxide. Thus, thepercentage carbon (corrected for CO2) = the percentage totalcarbon (CO2 0.273).10.2.3 Determine no
24、n-carbonate carbon using test methodEPA 9060.11. Storage and Inspection11.1 Store the blended pozzolan in such a manner as topermit easy access for proper inspection and identification ofeach shipment. The purchaser shall have access to everyfacility for careful sampling and inspection, either at th
25、e sourceor at the site of the work as may be specified by the purchaser.12. Rejection12.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected. Report rejection to theproducer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the te
26、st, the producer orsupplier may make claim for a rehearing.12.2 Packages more than 2 % below the weight markedthereon, may be rejected; and if the average weight of thepackages in any shipment, as shown by weighing 50 packagestaken at random, is less than that marked on the packages, theentire shipm
27、ent may be rejected.12.3 Blended pozzolan remaining in storage for a periodgreater than 6 months after completion of the tests may beretested and may be rejected if it fails to conform to any of therequirements of this specification.13. Certification13.1 When specified in the purchase order or contr
28、act,furnish the purchaser certification that samples representingeach lot have been tested or inspected as directed in thisspecification and the requirements of this specification havebeen met.13.1.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract,furnish a report of the test results that contain t
29、he results ofchemical analysis of the blended pozzolan to provide thepurchaser the composition of the material. Include in thatanalysis: loss on ignition or carbon (corrected for CO2),moisture, SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3, CaO, MgO, Total Na2O, TotalK2O, and SO3.14. Manufacturers Statement14.1 The manufacturer
30、 will state, in writing, the nature ofphysical and chemical changes in the pozzolanic blendedmaterial since last purchased. Any changes in sources of rawmaterial or in proportions of those raw materials will bereported to the purchaser or user. If requested, test data will besupplied indicating spec
31、ification compliance.15. Packaging and Package Marking15.1 Plainly mark the class of the blended pozzolan, nameand brand of the producer, and the mass of the materialcontained therein on each package when the blended pozzolanis delivered in packages. Provide similar information in theshipping docume

34、ON FACILITYX1.1 A blend of two ingredients of different absolutedensities should result in a known reproducible density foreach proportion. For example, a uniform blend of 80 % fly ash(density = 2.27) and 20 % kiln dust (density = 2.9) shouldresult in a density within 5 % of the theoretical density.
35、 Takethree random samples after the blending process has beencompleted and determine the densities of each.X1.2 To complete the testing for blending uniformity, onecan determine the distribution of a very small quantity ofadmixture within the products. Add fluorescein to the batch(for example, add 3
36、0 g fluorescein to a 5-lb bag of material,mix, and add the bag to the 12-ton batch) and after the blendingprocess is completed. The concentration of fluorescein in thebatch, as measured by spectrophotometric technique, should be95 to 105 % of theoretical.X1.3 The exact blending process must be in th
37、e QA reportincluding batch weights, blending times, blending procedure,and other pertinent data.X1.4 The check for the uniformity of the blend should beperformed on a monthly basis or each time the blendingprocess varies (equipment, blending time, weights, and soforth).ASTM International takes no po
