Scope1.1 This specifica

3、tion covers mineral-colloid-stabilized,concentrated, emulsified, refined coal tar suitable for use asweather-protective and aliphatic-solvent resistant coatings overbituminous pavements, such as those found at airports, parkingareas, and driveways. The specification for this material waspreviously c

4、overed by Federal Specification RP355.NOTE 1Dilute the concentrated emulsion after testing and prior toapplication to meet the application specification requirements.Applicationshall be made in accordance with Practice D3423/D3423M.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to b

5、e regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.3 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to

Materials and Manufacture3.1 The emulsion shall be made using tars having viscositiesof RT-11 or

10、 higher. The tars shall conform to the requirementsof Specification D490.3.2 The emulsion shall be fortified with antifreeze whenspecified.4. Physical Requirements4.1 The emulsion shall be homogeneous and exhibit noseparation or coagulation of components that cannot be over-come by moderate stirring

18、the normal hazards of shipping and handling.8.2 Each package shall be marked plainly with the name andbrand of the manufacturer or supplier, the ASTM designationas well as the type or grade of the product, and the productioncode or lot number. The before-mentioned information shall beso noted on the

19、 bill of lading if the shipment is by bulk tankerload.9.
