1、Designation: D 5933 96 (Reapproved 2007)Standard Specification for258-in. and 4-in. Diameter Metal Shear Plates for Use inWood Constructions1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 5933; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the

2、case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers standardizing the dimensionsand materials for the manufacture

3、 of 258 and 4-in. diametersteel or cast iron shear plates used in the fabrication ofconnections in wood constructions. The referencing of thisspecification in design, construction, and purchase order docu-ments gives the using parties ensurance that the shear plates tobe used in an assembly meet min

This specificationprovides regulatory agencies with a set of standards by whichto judge the acceptability of shear plates encountered in thefield and in fabricators shops.

5、1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values in parentheses are for information only.1.3 Safety HazardsThere are no known hazards with theuse of this specification. The products manufactured to thisspecification should not be brittle or difficult to install wit

The use of these shear plates is covered in theNational Design Specification for Wood Construction4andother wood design documents.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 General:5.1.1 Cast iron shear plates shall
