1、Designation: D 6136 97 (Reapproved 2004)e1Standard Test Method forKerosine Number of Unsaturated (Dry) Felt by VacuumMethod1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 6136; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision,

2、 the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.e1NOTEA warning note in 9.5 was moved into the text editorially in May 2004.1. Summary of Test Method3.1 The kerosine number of unsaturated (dry) felt is com-puted from the weight of a kerosine of known specific gravityretained by the felt after displacement of t

6、he air from interiorvoids. It is the millilitres of kerosine held /100 g of felt, andthus, is a measure of the quantity of saturant that a given feltwill absorb.4. Significance and Use4.1 The ability to absorb kerosine is an indication of theability to absorb hot asphalt. The kerosine number is used

Test Specimen8.1 From each test unit of the sample cut two sets of six testspecimen strips, each strip measuring 51 by 127 6 13 mm (2by 5 612 in.) with the longer side parallel to the machinedirection of the sheet.9. Procedure9.1 Place a set of strips in t
