A
2、 number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method is a means of determining the effect ofdrycleaning on certain physical attributes of buttons. The testmethod applies
3、to buttons made from plastics, naturalmaterials, cast metal, stamped metal and electroplated plastic.1.1.1 The observed attributes of buttons made from plasticand natural materials include: color change, color transfer, solubility, swelling, and loss of finish.1.1.2 The observed attributes of buttons
4、 made of metal andelectroplated buttons include: color change, oxidation andcolor transfer.1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. Significance and Use5.1 This test method is useful for determining the change tothe listed properties (see 1.1.1 and 1.1.2) and if the changes areacceptable for the intended use. This test may be used
8、foracceptance testing of commercial shipments of buttons.5.2 If there are differences of practical significance betweenthe reported test results for two laboratories (or more), com-parative tests should be performed to determine if there is astatistical bias between them. As a minimum, test sampless

The test results for thetwo laboratories should be compared using a statistical test f

If a bias is found, either its cause must be found andcorrected, or future test results for that material must beadjusted in consideration of the known bias.6.
