、Designation: D 7122 05Standard Specification forHCFC Blend B (CF3CCl2H, Ar, and CF4)1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 7122; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in

、 parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers requirements for HCFC BlendB as a fire-fighting medium.1.2 This specification does not address the fire-fightingequip

、ment or hardware that employs HCFC Blend B or theconditions of employing such equipment (for example, hand-helds, fixed installations, etc.).1.3 This specification does not address the storage ortransportation of HCFC Blend B. Storage, handling, andtransportation issues are addressed in Practice D 7

、123.1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are for informa-tion only.2. The blend also contains argon and tetrafluoromethane.3.1.2.1 DiscussionThe terminology system for fluorine-containing compounds (described in detail in ASHRAE Stan-dard 34) provides a convenient means to reference the structureof individual compounds. By definiti

For example, thedesignation HCFC-123 indicates two carbon atoms (1 + 1), onehydrogen atom (2-1), three fluorine atoms (3), and two chlorineatoms (2 atoms required based on valence requirements).Example: CF3CCl2H = HCFC-1234.
