3、hen requested by the buyer.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers the procedures for testingloaded shipping containers. Drop, vibration and compressiontests are performed to measure the ability of the shippingcontainer to protect the product from shock, vibration andcompressive forces encountered dur

4、ing normal export handlingand shipping conditions. This specification is not intended tosupplant material specifications or existing preshipment testprocedures. This specification is not intended for use withhazardous materials.1.2 These procedures are suitable for all types of laboratoryapparatus,

5、including reusable and disposable macro and microproducts.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.4 The following precautio

9、ners byFree Fall3. Requirements3.1 Three individual shipping containers, or one unit con-sisting of two or more overpackaged individual units arerequired. Each specimen shall be run through the sequence oftests, in the order given.3.2 Condition test specimens in accordance with PracticeD685. Standar

10、d conditions must be maintained throughout thetest sequence.3.3 The packaging shall comply with Practice D3951 exceptcleanliness of laboratory apparatus shall be as required by theProduct Standard, the QualityAssurance Standard, or as agreedupon between the manufacturer and the purchaser.4. The total number of drops shall be four.4.4 Perform the compression test in accordance with TestMethod D642.4.4.1 Compression test level in accordance with PracticeD4169 where F = 4.4 and H = 120 in.4.4.2 Use the following test level:L 5 W120 2 H!H!3 4.5 (1)where:L = load,W = we

Acceptable Criteria5.1 Disposable GlassCompletion of testing withoutbreakage occurring in any of the three units tested. In the caseof bulk packed items (more than 50 in a shipping container)less than 3 % total breakage

19、 in each of the three units tested.5.2 All OtherCompletion of testing without breakageoccurring in any of the three units tested.5.3 Outer package must contain product and provide adegree of protection to contents. One complete retest consist-ing of three (3) new packages is permitted.6. Report6.1 E
