、Designation: F 1122 04An American National StandardStandard Specification forQuick Disconnect Couplings (6 in. NPS and Smaller)1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F 1122; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revis
、ion, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers the manufacturing data re-quired to produce a variety of styles and sizes
、of quickdisconnect couplings up to and including NPS 6 for marine usethat ensure interchangeability and safety of operation.1.2 In general, quick disconnect couplings are hose and pipeend fittings that permit quick mechanical attachment by meansother than bolted or threaded fittings. The method of a
、ttach-ment is a male coupling half (adapter) that fits into a femalecoupling half (coupler) of the same size. By closing attachedcam handles, the coupling halves seal, permitting fluids to betransported under pressure through the quick disconnect cou-pling.1.3 The values stated in this specification
、 are in inch-poundunits with SI units given in parentheses. The values of eachsystem may not be exact equivalents. Therefore, each systemshould be considered separately.1.4 The following safety hazards caveat pertains only to thetest method described in this specification: This standard doesnot purp
