3、ck, ice, technical rope rescue and climbing,mountaineering, caving, canyoneering, and snow climbing. other rope-based sport activities. It establishes requirements for thetesting, performance, and marking of climbing harnesses and for the instructions that are supplied with them.1.2 This specificati

4、on may contain test methods that do not entirely simulate real-life climbing situations. The test methods aredesigned to give reproducible results in a laboratory and, thereby, a means for product comparison.1.3 Three types of harnesses are covered by this specification: full body harnesses, sit har

Summary of Specification4.1 Representative samples of climbing harnesses areshall be tested for minimum strength.5. Significance and Use5.1The strength of climbing harnesses is one of the properties used to evaluate

18、their suitability for climbing.5.2Marking and instructions aid in the selection and use of climbing harnesses.5.1 The strength of harnesses is one of the properties used to evaluate their suitability for a task.5.2 Marking and instructions aid in the selection and use of harnesses.5.3 Due to the div

19、erse requirements of various rescue activities and environments, any of the included harness types may besuitable for rescue, including those marketed principally for climbing, and those with frontal and/or dorsal attachment points. Itis the responsibility of the AHJ or user to determine if a specif

20、ic harness design is appropriate for a particular task. The exceptionis the sole use of a chest harness which must be used with a sit harness to be effective.6. Harness Labeling and Information6.1 The following information shall be affixed durably to the harness:6.1.1 The location(s) and method of r

21、ope or lanyard attachments,6.1.2 The location(s) and method of rappel and belay device attachments,6.1.3 The method of properly using buckles and adjusting devices,6.1.4 Manufacturers or distributors name and logo,6.1.5 The date of manufacture, and6.1.6 The size of the harness.6.2 The following info

22、rmation shall accompany the product through the point of sale:6.2.1 The weight of the harness,6.2.2 Performance rating, if applicable,6.2.3 Care and maintenance of the product,6.2.4 Life of ProductInformation about attributes that indicate the product is worn out,6.2.5 If the product is primarily ma

23、rketed for climbing, mountaineering, or other sport activity; accompanying the product shallbe a three-part statement designed to alert consumers to the inherent risks in that targeted activity, and the most basic guidelinesfor use of the product. The warning shall read as follows:6.2.5.1 Failure to

24、 follow these warnings increases the risk of injury of death.6.2.5.2 You are responsible for your own actions and decisions.6.2.5.3 Special knowledge and training are required to use this product.7. Performance Requirements67.1 During each of the tests described in Section 1112, no load-bearing part

25、 shall break completely. In addition, the harnessshall not be released from the torso.6.2The webbing in all buckles and adjusting devices shall slip no more than 20 mm.6.3If there are multiple independent rope attachment points, the tests shall be repeated using a new sample as defined in 8.1,for ea

26、ch combination of rope attachment points specified in the manufacturers instructions.6.4If the harness has a belay/rappel loop, the test described in 12.3 shall be repeated using a new sample as defined in 8.1, withthe belay/rappel loop as the load attachment point. No load-bearing part shall break

27、completely nor shall the harness be releasedfrom the torso.7.7.2 The webbing in all buckles and adjusting devices shall slip no more than 20 mm.7.3 If there are multiple independent rope attachment points, the tests shall be repeated for each rope attachment point specifiedin the manufacturers instr

If multiple attachment points are designed to be employed only in combination, as specified inmanufacturers instructions (such as side D-rings or shoulder D-rings), they shall be tested as a combination, with the combinationmeeting single-point performance standards.7.4 Each load-bearing at

29、tachment point on the harnesses shall be tested as described in Section 12, including belay/rappel loops,if present.8. Apparatus7.1F1772 1228.1 Body Shaped Torso (see Fig. 1),7.28.2 Tensile Test Machine, used to apply loads to the harness, and7.38.3 Load Cell, for measuring the tensile force applied

30、 to the harness.8.Sampling, Test Specimens, and Test Units8.1Harness test specimens shall be new and in unused condition, selected randomly from a production lot of a given model ofharness. They shall conform in all respects to the manufacturers specifications for the model to be tested and shall be

A sample maybe reused to test different attachment points.10. Calibration and Standardization9.1Test10.1 Test equipment is to be in compliance with Pr

33、actices E4 and other requirements specific to the equipment.10.11. Conditioning101.1 Tests may be completed under ambient conditions. In cases of dispute, harness samples will be conditioned in accordancewith 10.211.2.10.211.2 The harness samples are first dried in an atmosphere with a relative humi

34、dity of less than 10 % for a period of 24 h. Thenthey are placed in an atmosphere of 50 6 5 % relative humidity, 20 6 2C for a period of 72 h. Tests may then be done outsidethe conditioning room, but the temperature shall be 23 6 5C. The tests shall begin within 5 min of removal from conditioningand

35、 be completed within 4 h.11.12. Harnesses11.112.1 Full Body Harnesses:112.1.1 The harness shall be put on a test torso and attached with a rope to the test machine in accordance with themanufacturers instructions for use.11.1.212.1.2 Upright Position of the Torso:112.1.2.1 The harness shall be loade

36、d up to 800 6 10 N in the upright position of the torso. Under this load, adjust the torsoand harness so that the rope attachment points are approximately symmetric about the vertical axis of the torso.112.1.2.2 With the torso in an upright position, a tensile force shall be applied to the lower rin

37、g, increasing to 16 + 0.3/0 kNover a period of 2 6 0.25 min. This tensile force shall be held for 1 6 0.25 min, and the tension then shall be completely releasedover a maximum of 1 min. The tensile force shall be reapplied and increased to 16 + 0.3/0 kN as before and held for 3 6 0.25min before rele

38、ase.11.1.312.1.3 Head-Down Position of the TorsoWithFollowing the same set-up as in 12.1.1 and 12.1.2.1, with the torso ina head-down position, a tensile force shall be applied to the upper ring, increasing to 10 + 0.2/0 kN over a period of 2 6 0.25min. This tensile force shall be held for 1 6 0.25

39、min, and the tension then shall be completely released over a maximum of 1 min.The tensile force shall be reapplied and increased to 10 + 0.3/0 kN as before and held for 3 6 0.25 min before release.12.1.4 The harness shall pass or fail according to 7.1 and 7.2.12.2 Sit Harnesses:11.2.1The harness sh

40、all be put on a test torso and attached with a rope to the test machine in accordance with the manufacturersinstructions for use.11.2.2Upright Position of the Torso:11.2.2.1The harness shall be loaded up to 800610 N in the upright position of the torso. Under this load, adjust the torso andharness s

41、o that the rope attachment points are approximately symmetric about the vertical axis of the torso.11.2.2.2With the torso in an upright position, a tensile force shall be applied to the lower ring, increasing to 16+0.3/0 kN overa period of 260.25 min. This tensile force shall be held for 160.25 min,

42、 and the tension then shall be completely released overa maximum of 1 min. 44、 Buckle Test:11.2.4.1The12.2.2.1 The belt is attached between two non-rotating cylindrical pins of 30 6 10-mm diameter. See Fig. 2.11.2.4.2A tensile force shall be applied increasing gradually to 1+0.1/0 kN over a period of 160.25 min. Mark the webbingat the outer edge of the buckle. The tensile for

45、ce shall be increased to 10+0.2/0 kN over a period of 260.25 min. This tensileforce shall be held for 360.25 min. Mark the webbing at the outer edge of the buckle.The tension then shall be completely releasedover a maximum of 1 min. Unfasten the buckle and measure the distance between the two marks.

46、11.2.5Horizontal Position of the Torso:11.2.5.1The tensile force shall be applied in the plane of symmetry of the torso and normal to its axis (see Fig. 3). The torsorings or support slings may be used to hold the torso as indicated.11.2.5.2With the torso in a horizontal position, a tensile force sh

47、all be applied increasing gradually to 1+0.1/0 kN over a periodof 160.25 min. Mark the webbing at the outer edge of the buckle. The tensile force shall be increased to 10+0.2/0 kN over aperiod of 260.25 min. This tensile force shall be held for 360.25 min. Mark the webbing at the outer edge of the b

48、uckle. Thetension then shall be completely released over a maximum of 1 min. Unfasten the buckle and measure the distance between thetwo marks.11.312.2.2.2 Atensile force shall be applied increasing gradually to 1 + 0.1/0 kN over a period of 1 6 0.25 min. Mark the webbingat the outer edge of the buc

49、kle. The tensile force shall be increased to 10 + 0.2/0 kN over a period of 2 6 0.25 min. This tensileforce shall be held for 3 6 0.25 min. Mark the webbing at the outer edge of the buckle. The tension then shall be completelyreleased over a maximum of 1 min. Unfasten the buckle and measure the distance between the two marks.12.2.2.3 The harness shall pass or fail according to 7.1 and 7.2.12.3 Chest Harnesses:11.3.1The harness shall be put on a test torso and attached with a rope to the test machine in accordance with the manufacture
