3、requirements for multilayerpipe type 2 and compression fittings for hot and cold drinking-water systems, with a maximum pressure rating of 1000 kPa(145 psi) at 82C (180F).NOTE 1Multilayer Pipe Type 2Construction-based pressure ratedpipe comprising more than one layer in which at least 60 % of the wa

4、llthickness is polymeric material.1.2 Multilayer pipe type 2 is produced using a butt-weldedaluminum pipe as a core, with an extruded inside layer ofcrosslinked polyethylene (PEX). An adhesive layer is used tobond the inside layer to the wall of the aluminum pipe. Anouter layer of polyethylene (PE)

5、and an adhesive layer areextruded to the outer wall of the aluminum pipe.1.3 Multilayer pipe type 2 is produced in configurations 1and 2, as referenced in Fig. 1.1.4 This specification includes compression fittings, whichare referenced in Fig. 2 .1.5 Specifications for thread or solder adapters for

6、use withpipe and fittings meeting the requirements of this specificationare given in Annex A1 and Annex A2.1.6 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to thetest method portion of this specification: This standard doesnot purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any,associated with

It is the responsibility of the user of thisstandard to establish appropriate safety and health practicesand determine the applicability of regulatory limitations priorto use.1.7 The values stated in either SI units or in inch-poundunits are to be regarded separately as standard. The value

8、sstated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore,each system shall be used independently of the other. 17、 (curing) of PE compound.3.1.2 multilayer pipe type 2, na pipe consisting of differ-ent materials with specific functional purpose to serve as pipe.3.1.3 pressure ratings (PR), nthe maximum, continuouswater pressure at a specified temperature that pipe is capable ofwithstanding without failure.3.2 D

18、efinitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 adhesivea low-molecular-weight PE that functionsas an adhesive layer and bonds the PEX to aluminum pipe.3.2.2 compression fittings for multilayer pipe, na fittingspecially developed for multilayer pipe in which the aluminumcore is used as compressi

19、on sleeve to develop sufficientmechanical strength for the connection (see Fig. 2).3.2.3 multilayer pipe, nabbreviation used in this specifi-cation for multilayer pipe type 2.3.2.4 lot, na lot shall consist of all pipe of the same sizeproduced from one extrusion line during one designatedperiod.4. 20、lassification4.1 Multilayer pipe and compression fittings produced un-der this specification shall be suitable for hot and cold drinkingwater at specified pressure ratings and temperatures.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 Specification for Material and Manufacture of Multi-layer Pipe Configuration 1

21、and 2:5.1.1 Polyethylene (PE)PE shall meet the requirementprovided in Specification D 3350 and shall equal or exceed aminimum cell classification of 234233 B or 345442 B. Colorand form of the material shall be in accordance with theagreement between purchaser and supplier under SpecificationD 3350.5

22、.1.2 Crosslinked Polyethylene (PEX)PEX shall meet theminimum gel content of 65 % when evaluated in accordancewith Test Method D 2765. The PEX raw material shall equal orexceed a minimum cell classification 344543 A in accordancewith the Specification D 3350. The form of the material shallbe in accor

23、dance with the agreement between purchaser andsupplier.5.1.3 Adhesive PolymersAdhesive polymers shall bemodified low-molecular-weight PE with a minimum density of0.915 g/cm3and different levels of comonomer for adhesion toaluminum and other substrates. The melting point shall not beless than 120C (2

29、n B 283, UNS Copper Alloy No.C37700.5.2.3 Compression fittings made from plastic shall be injec-tion molded from virgin material and meet the requirements ofSpecification D 3222, Type II.5.3 Material Specification for O-RingsThe O-ring mate-rial shall be EPDM, with a hardness of 70 IRHD, in accordan

30、cewith Specification F 477. O-ring dimensions shall be in accor-dance with AS 568 A.6. Requirements6.1 Multilayer Pipe Dimensions:6.1.1 Outside DiameterThe outside diameter shall meetthe requirement of Table 1 when measured in accordance withTest Method D 2122.6.1.2 Wall ThicknessThe wall thickness

31、of multilayer pipeshall meet the requirement of Table 1 when measured inaccordance with Test Method D 2122. The wall thickness andthe outside diameter of the aluminum pipe shall be determinedprior to the next manufacturing steps.6.1.3 Average Thickness of Inner and Outer LayersTheaverage thickness o

32、f the inner and outer layers of the multilayerpipe will be calculated as follows:6.1.3.1 Average Thickness of the Outer LayerThe averageoutside diameter of the multilayer pipe minus the averageoutside diameter of the aluminum pipe multiplied by 0.5.6.1.3.2 Average Thickness of the Inner LayerThe ave

33、ragewall thickness of the multilayer pipe minus the average wallthickness of the aluminum pipe minus the average wallthickness of the outer layer.6.1.4 LengthThe pipe shall be supplied in coils or instraight lengths in accordance with the agreement betweenpurchaser and seller. The tolerance shall be

34、 +100 mm for coiledlengths and +10 mm for straight lengths.6.2 Compression-Fitting DimensionsCompression fit-tings shall meet the requirements of Table 2 when measured inaccordance with Test Method D 2122.6.2.1 Compression ToolThe compression tool shall meetthe requirements of Table 3when measured i

35、n accordance withTest Method D 2122.6.3 Minimum Burst PressureThe minimum burst pressurefor multilayer pipe and compression fittings for hot and coldwater systems shall be as given in Table 5.6.4 Sustained PressureThe multilayer pipe and fittingsshall not fail at the test pressure and temperature gi

36、ven in Table6 when tested in accordance with 8.1.6.5 Thermal Cycling TestThe multilayer pipe and fittingsshall not fail when tested in accordance with 8.2.6.6 Excessive Temperature-Pressure CapabilityIn theevent of a waterheating system malfunction, the multilayerpipe and fitting shall have adequate

37、 strength to accommodateshort-term conditions, 30 days at 100C (212F), 1200 kPa(175 psi), until repairs can be made. 46、ableto the local health authority. The evaluation shall be inaccordance with the requirements for chemical extraction,which are no less restrictive than those included in ANSI/NSF61.
