Scope1.1 This test method cov

3、ers determination of the effects ofcleaning solutions and liquid cleaner concentrates on paintedaircraft surfaces (Note 1). Streaking, discoloration, and blister-ing may be determined visually. Softening is determined witha series of specially prepared pencils wherein determination ofthe softest pen

4、cil to rupture the paint film is made.NOTE 1This test method is applicable to any paint film that is exposedto cleaning materials. MIL-PRF-85285 has been selected as a basicexample. When other paint finishes are used, refer to the applicablematerial specification for panel preparation and system cur

Procedure7.1 Preparation of PencilsPrepare a set of drawing pen-cils for testing the painted panels by stripping the wood awayfrom the end approximatel

16、y38 in. (9.5 mm) without damagingthe lead (as shown in Fig. 1). Then square the tip of the lead byholding the pencil in a vertical position and moving the leadback and forth over a very fine (180- to 320-grit) sandpaper.Square the tip of the lead after each trial.7.2 Preparation of PanelsWipe 3- by

17、6- by 0.02-in. (76-by 152- by 0.5-mm) aluminum panels with acetone, dry andabrade lightly with a fine aluminum oxide mat. Rinse thesurface with distilled water and coat with a conversion coatingmaterial conforming to MIL-DTL-81706, Class 1A. Apply onecoat of MIL-PRF-23377 epoxy primer, 0.6 to 0.8 mi

18、l (0.015 to0.020 mm) and allow to dry1hatroom temperature. Apply amist coat of the designated polyurethane and allow to dry 30min at room temperature. Apply the finish coat in threeapplications of 0.4 to 0.6 mil (0.010 to 0.015 mm), allowing a1-h drying time at room temperature between each coat. Al

19、lowthe painted panels to dry four days at room temperature; thenbake for 24 h at 180F (82C) or allow panels to air dry anadditional three to ten days at room temperature. No greaterthan one pencil hardness difference between coated panelsprepared from the same batch of paint at the same time shall b

20、epermitted.7.3 Procedure:7.3.1 Place the test panels in a horizontal position in an ovenmaintained at 100 6 5F (38 6 2C). Apply the test solutionto approximately one half the area of each panel and allow toremain on the panels for 30 min. Then remove the panels fromthe oven and rinse with distilled

21、or deionized water and allowto air dry for 24 h. Examine for streaking, discoloration, orblistering of the finish.7.3.2 Determine the hardness of the treated and untreatedareas in the following manner: Hold pencils of decreasinghardness by hand at a 45 angle (see Fig. 1) and push across thepaint fil

22、m with a firm uniform pressure until a pencil is foundthat will not cut the film but will leave a black mark on thesurface, whereas the next hardest pencil will cut through thefilm without leaving a black mark. The hardness number of thepencil that cuts the film shall express film hardness. Make atl

23、east three determinations on both exposed and unexposedportions of the coated panel.8. Report8.1 The report shall include the following:8.1.1 The appearance of the panels after exposure,8.1.2 The pencil hardness required to rupture the paint filmon the unexposed portion of the panel, and8.1.3 The pe

24、ncil hardness required to rupture the paint filmon the exposed portion of the panel.9.
