Materials and Manufacture5.1 Inner RingRings shall be manufactured of steel, alloyor carbon, carburizing grad
25、e 4620, 4720, 8620, 8720, or 1018to 1022 or 1117; or SAE E51100, SAE E52100, in accordancewith SAE AMS STD 66 or SAE 51100 or SAE J404.5.2 The use of recycled materials that meet the requirementsof the applicable material specification without jeopardizingthe intended use of the item is encouraged.6
26、. Other Requirements6.1 Heat Treatment:6.1.1 Rings:6.1.1.1 Steel 4620, 4720, 8620, 8720, and 1018 to 1022 or1117 shall be case hardened to Rockwell HRC 5865, inaccordance with Test Methods E18. Case depth shall be 0.025in. (0.64 mm) minimum.6.1.1.2 Steel SAE E51100 and SAE 52100 shall be throughhard
27、ened to Rockwell HRC 58-65, in accordance with TestMethods E18.6.2 Protective Coating:6.2.1 Unless otherwise specified, inner rings shall be fur-nished without plating.6.2.2 Manufacturer shall coat bearings with rust preventivefilm.7. Dimensions and Permissible Variations7.1 Products manufactured in
28、 accordance with this specifi-cation shall meet the requirements shown in Table 1.7.1.1 Given the shaft diameter and radial load for a particu-lar bearing application, the bore diameter of the inner ring isselected from the shaft size. The outside diameters and widthare chosen by dimensionally matin
29、g the inner ring with thebearing from Specification F 2246 that exhibits the requiredload capacity.7.2 Rings are intended to be installed on shafts wheremaximum taper does not exceed 0.0005 in./in. (0.0005 mm/mm) of bearing width.7.3 Ring must clear the maximum shaft fillet radius shownin the radius
30、 column of Table 1. The radii or chamfers on theinner diameter of the ring may be unequal. Where the radii areunequal, the surface with the larger relief should be mountedagainst the shaft shoulder. In rings where the inside diameterrelief radii are not equal, the marking shall appear on thesurface
31、with the lesser radius.7.4 Rings shall contain between one and four oil holes, sizeand number shall be in accordance with manufacturers stan-dard practice.7.5 Oil groove optional in accordance with manufacturersstandard practice8. Workmanship, Finish and Appearance8.1 Surface Finish:8.1.1 RingsThe r
32、aceway surface (O.D.) of the inner ringshall have a maximum surface roughness, in accordance withANSI B46.1, of 20 in. Ra (0.51 m Ra).9. Inspection9.1 Inspection of the product shall be agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the supplier as part of the purchase contract.10. Rejection and Rehearing10.1
33、 Products that fail to conform to the requirements of thisspecification may be rejected. Rejection should be reported tothe producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer orsupplier may make claim for rehearing.11. Certification11.1
34、 When specified in the purchase order or contract, thepurchaser shall be furnished certification that samples repre-senting each lot have been either tested or inspected as directedin this specification and the requirements have been met. Whenspecified in the purchase order or contract, a report of
35、the testresults shall be furnished.12. Product Marking12.1 Marking shall consist of the part number and themanufacturers identification in accordance with MIL-STD-130.12.1.1 The part number shall consist of the MS51962designation plus the dash number (see Table 1). For example,MS51962-112.2 In rings
36、 where the inside diameter relief radii are notequal, the marking shall appear on the surface with the lesserradius.13. Packaging13.1 Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchaseorder, military procurements shall be packaged and preservedin accordance with MIL-DTL-197. Level of packaging a
