MIB consists of a repository of characteristics and parameters managed in a network device such as a NIC, hub, switch or router. Manufactur
11、er Name name of the business entity that is physically stamped on the plug-in card. NOTE: This name or logo is clearly displayed, etched, or marked on each plug-in card and is part of the equipment identifier regardless of the current status of the manufacturer (renamed, dissolved, acquired, etc.).
12、In some instances, due to acquisitions, the identical equipment part and version number may be produced under multiple manufacturer names. Manufacturer Name is one of the three primary elements needed to develop an Equipment Identifier. Manufacturer Part Number proprietary character string of inform
13、ation that is assigned to each plug-in card by its manufacturer. NOTE 1: part numbers can be further described as: coding of arbitrary length and format that uniquely identifies a specific plug-in card or equipment mounting; coding that may contain some basic information on the purpose or function o
14、f the plug-in card or mounting; This coding is stamped or etched on each plug-in card or mounting. Part numbers normally do not identify which version, issue, or release number was used to manufacture the plug-in card. NOTE 2: A part number is one of the three primary elements needed to develop an E
15、quipment Identifier. NOTE 3: A part number is not a GTIN (code used on the packaging for consumer packaged goods). NDIS A device driver specification co-developed by Microsoft and 3Com and used by LAN Manager and Vines and supported by many network card vendors. Network Agent a device, such as a wor
16、kstation, a router or a plug-in card, that is equipped to gather network performance information to send to the network management station. Network Management Station (NMS) is a dedicated workstation that gathers and stores network performance data, obtaining that data from network nodes running net
17、work agent software that enables them to collect the data. NIC Network Interface Card Public Network Operator (PNO) service provider; a term used outside of North America. 18、astic card with an embedded computer chip. The chip can either be a microprocessor with internal memory or a memory chip with non-programmable logic. The chip connection is either via direct physical contact or remotely via a contact-less electromagnetic interface. 4 Required Data Elements This sect
19、ion defines the data elements that shall be included in the MIB. 4.1 Equipment Identifier At least one of the following equipment identifiers shall be included. However, if the product requires a CLEI Code, it shall be included. 4.1.1 CLEI Code The CLEI Code of the hardware per ATIS-0300213. This is
20、 the same CLEI Code that is included in the bar code or 2D symbol and in the human readable on the label placed on the plug-in card. 4.1.2 Other Equipment Identifier The combination of the three following components are used to provide a single identity for a plug-in card and are normally stamped on
21、 the product: Manufacturer Name Manufacturer Part Number Manufacturing Equipment Version 4.2 Unique Serial Identification (USI) The Unique Serial Identification of the hardware as defined in ATIS-0300091 and ATIS-0300078. 4.3 Software Version The manufacturer specified version of the software. The S
22、oftware Version defines a set of features or functions to a software product announced and available to the service provider. This Software Version should indicate the most detailed release level specified by the manufacturer (i.e., lowest “dot” release). 5 Optional Data Elements This section define
23、s the recommended data elements associated with the hardware that a manufacturer may include in the MIB. These data elements are recommended. There may be other data elements that the manufacturer may need to include or the customer may require. ATIS-0300040 4 5.1 Manufacture Date The date of manufa
24、cture of the product in format YYYYMMDD (as defined in ISO 8601 or ANS X12.3 Data Element Number 374). 5.2 Manufacturer Product Name Unit acronym assigned by the equipment manufacturer that is normally stamped on the unit faceplate (e.g., LIU, CPU, MEM, PWR, etc.). Refer to ”Product Name” as defined
