The principal difference between this revision

8、and the 1981 edition is that values for plant spread are given in terms of ranges rather than minima. It has been assumed in the drafting of this Part of BS3936 that the execution of its provisions is entrusted to appropriately qualified and experienced people. A British Standard does not purport to

9、 include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. Compliance with a British Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations. Summary of pages This document comprises a front cover, an inside front cover,

10、pages i and ii, pages1 to 4 and a back cover. This standard has been updated (see copyright date) and may have had amendments incorporated. This will be indicated in the amendment table on theinside front cover.BS3936-10:1990 BSI 03-1999 1 1 Scope This Part of BS3936 specifies requirements for groun

An indication of whether the plants are deciduous, evergreen or herbaceous is included for information only inTable 1. 2 Definitions For the purposes of this British Standard the following definitions apply. 2.1 country of origin the co

12、untry where the plant has grown for the latter half of the most recent growing season 2.2 ground cover plants plants that are suitable to be transplanted and that grow to produce a dense ground cover that discourages weeds 2.3 container-grown plants plants which have grown in any type of container (

13、e.g.pot, plastics bag, peat block) for sufficient time for root growth to have substantially filled the container 2.4 containerized plants plants in containers but which have not been in the container long enough to have made substantial new root growth 3 Root system 3.1 The species listed inTable 1

14、 shall be supplied in one or more of the following forms of root system:bare root, root-balled, containerized or container-grown. Table 1 also indicates the species which shall be supplied root-balled or container-grown. NOTE 1The root system should be balanced in relation to the plant and should be

15、 conducive to successful transplanting and growth. NOTE 2Container-grown plants, whatever time of year they are sold, should have been established in the container long enough for substantial new root growth to have been produced. 3.2 Root balls shall be supported with a suitable material. NOTEHessi

Roots shall not have been sub

The spread of herbaceous plants shall be measured when the plants are in leaf. 5.2

20、 These requirements shall apply also to other species and cultivars of growth habits similar to those listed inTable 1. 5.3 The size of containers or volume of compost per plant (except for those sold bare root or root-balled) shall be as given inTable 1. 6 Designation and labelling 6.1 Each consign
