4、 the Automobile Industry Standards Committee of the BSI is based upon data-sheet SMMT181:1961 of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Ltd. It specifies the dimensions for positive and negative electrical cable connectors for attachment to the starter battery terminal posts specified in BS.
5、 1)on cars and light commercial vehicles using the positive earth system. These cable connectors are alternative to those specified in BS AU31 2) . The dimensions of the connectors shall be as shown in Figure 1. The connectors shall be attached to the battery terminal posts by means of No.10 self-ta
6、pping screws * in long. The dimensions of the lighting circuit cable connector for attachment to the negative battery connector shall be as shown in Figure 2. NOTEIf it is required to convert the figures in this standard from British units into metric units it is recommended that the conversion fact
7、ors and the tables contained in BS350, “Conversion factors and tables”, be used. Attention is also drawn to BS2856, “Precise conversion of inch and metric sizes on engineering drawings”.
