25、out core 3.2 plait rope plaited in one direction (spiral plait) or in the opposite direction (cross plait) 3.3 plaited section element at the circumference of plaited ropes consisting of yarns or strands 3.4 number of plaited sections number of plaited sections at the circumference of plaited ropes
26、3.5 core bundle of rope yarns in the middle of the rope 3.6 preserving agent substance to increase the resistance of the cordage to rotting 4 Construction Hemp ropes produced in accordance with this European Standard shall be constructed in compliance with one of the following types (seealsoFigure 1
27、 and Figure 2): 5 Structure and properties 5.1 Rope geometry, dimensions and load factors Hemp ropes shall conform to the values given inTable 1 to Table 5 of this standard and the values given inEN701. 5.2 Manufacture 5.2.1 General The manufacture of ropes conforming to this standard shall be carri
28、ed out in the natural state of the yarns, strands and cores. Other requirements concerning structure and manufacture shall be in accordance with EN701. NOTEStrands may be polished (smoothed) to improve the characteristics of the rope. 5.2.2 Spiral ropes type A 3-strand hawser-laid rope; type B 4-str

Preserving agents, if used, shall be indicated on the package. 6 Materials Long fibre yarns used for hemp cordage shall exclusively consist of new hemp (Cannabis sativa L) with an approximate density of 1,35 kg/dm 3 . When processi

39、 in accordance with EN919. 8 Designation The designation of a rope in accordance with this standard shall be given in the following form: NOTEThe example given is for a hemp fibre rope of type A. 9 Marking Ropes shall be marked in accordance with EN701 and additional specifications of this standard.
40、 For ropes with a nominal diameter $ 16 mm a marker tape shall be present. Hemp ropes shall contain the marking elements given inTable 5. 9.1 Marker yarn The marker yarn (which may be combined with a marker tape) shall show the marking of the constituent material in the following way: 9.2 Marker tap
41、e The marker tape shall indicate the following manufacturing designations: name or sign of the manufacturer; year of production; number of this standard EN1261; ropes for sea shipping shall be marked additionally with the certification number of a classification company.
