23、rmancetestshavebeencarriedoutsuccessfullyoncompleteapparatuswherespecifiedintheappropriate standard.Ifforanyreasonacompleteapparatusisnottestedthensimulationoftheapparatusispermitted providedtherespiratorycharacteristicsandweightdistributionaresimilartothoseofthecompleteapparatus. 1Scope ThisEuropea

30、enomenclature giveninEN134:1998apply. 4Description Lunggoverneddemandcompressedairescapeapparatusaredesignedandconstructedtoenablethewearerto breatheairondemandfromapressurevessel(s)eitherviaapressurereducerandalunggoverneddemandvalve oralunggoverneddemandvalveconnectedtothefacepiece.Theexhaledairpa

31、sseswithoutrecirculationfrom thefacepieceviatheexhalationvalvetotheambientatmosphere. 5Classification Lunggoverneddemandcompressedairescapeapparatusareclassifiedaccordingtotheratedworkingduration (see6.24.1)whichisdefinedbyperformingabreathingmachinetestinaccordancewith7.5.5withaminute volumeof35l/m

32、in(20cycles/min,1,75l/stroke). Ratedworkingdurationisexpressedinminutesandisdefinedinstepsof5minutes. Itshouldberecognizedthattheeffectivedurationmayvaryaccordingtotheworkrate. 6Requirements 6.1General Inalltestsalltestsamplesshallmeettherequirements. 6.2Ergonomics Therequirementsofthisstandardarein

33、tendedtotakeaccountoftheinteractionbetweenthewearer,the apparatus,andwherepossibletheworkingenvironmentinwhichtheapparatusislikelytobeused.SeeAnnexZA. 6.3Design Theapparatusshallbeofsimpleandreliableconstructionandascompactaspossible. Theapparatusshallbedesignedsoasnottointerferewithworkactivitieswh

34、encarriedinaccordancewiththe manufacturersinstructions. Theapparatusshallbesodesignedthattherearenoprotrudingpartsorsharpedgeslikelytobecaughton projectionsinnarrowpassagesorthatmayhurtthewearer. Theapparatusshallbedesignedtoensureitsfullfunctioninanyorientation. Thereadyforusestateoftheapparatussha

35、llidentifythepressureinthepressurevessel(s)priortouseandduring storage.Inthereadyforusestatethefacepieceshallbesecurelyattachedtotheapparatus.Thepressurevessel hastobeopenedeasilybyhandorautomaticallywhenstartingtheapparatus.Inthecaseofapermanent installationoftheapparatusinastoragecontainertheappar

36、atusshallbeactivatedautomaticallyuponremoval fromthestoragecontainer.Inallcasestheapparatusshallbelockedintheopenpositionagainstinadvertent shutting. Ifabreathingapparatusforworking,e.g.“airlineequipment“isusedinconnectionwithanescapeapparatusthe escapeapparatusdesignshallbesuchastopreventairlossfro

37、mtheescapeapparatusintheeventofmalfunction ordisconnectionofthebreathingapparatusforworking.EN402:2003(E) 7 Testingshallbedoneinaccordancewith7.3and7.8. 6.4Materials Thecarryingcontainerandthelockingdevice,wherepresent,shallbeadequatelyprotectedagainstcorrosion.The materialsusedshallbeabletowithstan

38、dtemperaturesandmechanicalstressexpectedwhilstbeingcarriedonthe manaswellasonmachinesandvehicles. Testingshallbedoneinaccordancewith7.3,7.5.1and7.8. Exposedpartsi.e.thosewhichmaybesubjectedtoimpactduringuseoftheapparatusshallnotbemadeof aluminium,magnesium,titaniumoralloys. Topreventelectrostaticcha

39、rgesonnonmetalcarryingcontainers,thesurfaceresistanceshallnotexceed10 9 . Wheretheapparatusisrequiredtobeantistaticduringescapematerialsusedshallbeantistaticasfarasitis practicable. Testingshallbedoneinaccordancewith7.5.7. Materialswhichcomeintodirectcontactwiththewearersskinandthebreathablegasshall

40、notbeknowntobe likelytocauseirritationoranyotheradverseeffecttohealth. Thefinishofanypartoftheapparatuslikelytobeincontactwiththewearershallbefreefromedgesandburrs. Testingshallbedoneinaccordancewith7.3and7.8. 6.5Cleaninganddisinfecting Allmaterialusedshallwithstandthecleaninganddisinfectingagentsan

41、dproceduresrecommendedbythe manufacturer. Testingshallbedoneinaccordancewith7.3and7.8. 6.6Mass Themassofthecompleteapparatusincludingcarryingcontainershallnotexceed5kgwhendesignedtobe carriedonthemanforatleast8h. Testingshallbedoneinaccordancewith7.3. 6.7Connections Thedesignandconstructionoftheappa

42、ratusshallpermititscomponentstobereadilyseparatedforcleaning, inspectingandtesting.Demountableconnectionstoachievethisshallbereadilyconnectedandsecured, preferablybyhand. Anymeansforsealingusedshallberetainedinpositionwhentheconnection(s)is(are)disconnectedduring normaluseandmaintenance. Testingshal

43、lbedoneinaccordancewith7.3and7.8. 6.8Harness Theapparatusshallhaveaharnessorothermeansofcarryingsothatthewearershandsareleftfree,whenthe apparatusisinuse. Anyharnessshallbedesignedtoallowquick,easyandcorrectdonningoftheapparatuswithoutassistance.EN402:2003(E) 8 Testingshallbedoneinaccordancewith7.3and7.8. 6.9Handling Theapparatusshallbecapableofbeingdonnedandputintooperationsimplyandwithoutundueexertionunder difficultconditionse.g.inthedarkandinrestrictedspaces.
