23、nnectors. The specification, along with the appropriate blank detail specification, defines the requirements and quality assessment procedures for the subfamily. Type F-05 is a rectangular simplex optical fibre connector consisting of2,50 mm cylindrical ferrules and a push/pull coupling mechanism. I
24、t is primarily intended for use in digital audio and video equipment but may find applications in a variety of other applications. It is applicable for both glass fibre and plastic fibre. 1.2 Normative reference The following normative document contains provisions which, through reference in this te

27、res and cables Part 1: Generic specification. 2 Requirements The requirements specified herein and in section 2 of IEC 874-1 apply. 2.1 Classification Connectors covered by this part are classified as: Type: name: F-05 (friction lock) push/pull coupling configurations: plug/adapter/plug plug/socket

The detail specification defines the configuration, mating face dimensions, arrangement, style, variants, climatic category, environmental category, and ass
29、essment level(s). 2.2 Keying Connectors may contain keys and alternate keying positions as variants. When keying is used, the detail specification shall define the appropriate control dimensions. Exceptions to the mating face-control dimensions of Figure 1,Figure 2, and Figure 3 may be taken for key
30、/keyway details. 2.3 Reference components The detail specification shall define reference components when they are required. 2.4 Gauges The detail specification shall define gauges when they are required. 2.5 Non-flammable materials The detail specification shall specify non-flammable materials when
31、 they are required. 3 Quality assessment procedures The quality assessment procedures specified herein and in section 3 of IEC874-1 apply. 3.1 Qualification approval 3.1.1 Fixed sample procedure When specified, the fixed sample procedure shall be in accordance with 3.3.1 of IEC874-1. The relevant bl
32、ank detail specification contains the minimum mandatory test schedules and performance requirements for qualification by the fixed sample procedure. The complete set of mandatory test schedules and performance requirements shall be specified in the detail specification. Qualification approval will b
33、e granted for the complete range of variants submitted as structurally similar upon successful completion of the tests. 3.1.1.1 Sample size The sample size for qualification by the fixed sample procedure shall be specified in the detail specification. The specimen is defined as a complete connector
34、set of a variant for the smallest fibre core diameter specified in the detail specification. In addition, the following sample shall be provided: one specimen of each plug variant to be qualified by structural similarity to the one used for group 0; one specimen of each adapter variant to be qualifi

40、. 3.1.1.2 Preparation of specimens Assemble kit arrangement specimens according to the manufacturers instructions for use. 3.1.1.3 Testing The tests shall be conducted in the order given, according to the method specified and the specimens shall satisfy the performance requirements of the detail spe
41、cification. The additional variant specimens (see 3.1.1.1) shall be tested to all group 0 tests and shall meet the requirements of the detail specification. 3.1.2 Lot-by-lot and periodic procedure When specified, the lot-by-lot plus periodic qualification procedure shall be in accordance with3.3.2 o
42、f IEC874-1 (see 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 for test schedules). Qualification approval will be granted for the complete range of variants submitted as structurally similar upon successful completion of the tests. 3.2 Quality conformance inspection 3.2.1 Lot-by-lot inspection The minimum mandatory inspection sc
43、hedules for lot-by-lot inspection are specified in the relevant blank detail specification. The complete set of mandatory test schedules and performance requirements shall be specified in the detail specification. 3.2.2 Periodic inspection The minimum mandatory periodic test schedules are specified

Periodic inspection approval will be granted for the complete range of variants submitted as structurally similar upon successful completion of the
45、 tests. 3.2.2.1 Sample size The sample size for periodic inspection shall be as specified in the detail specification. The specimens are complete connector sets of a variant for the smallest fibre core diameter specified in the detail specification. In addition, the following sample shall be provide
46、d: one specimen of each plug variant to be qualified by structural similarity to the one used for group C0 or D0; one specimen of each adapter variant to be qualified by structural similarity to the one used for group C0 or D0; one specimen of each socket variant to be qualified by structural simila
