24、1 Scope ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodforthedeterminationofthemoistureandvolatilemattercontentof oilseeds. 2 Normativereference Thefollowingnormativedocumentcontainsprovisionswhich,throughreferenceinthistext,constituteprovisionsof thisInternationalStandard.Fordatedreferences,subsequentame

28、ne,bydryingat103C 2Cinanovenatatmospheric pressure,untilpracticallyconstantmassisreached. 5 Apparatus Usuallaboratoryapparatusand,inparticular,thefollowing. 5.1 Analyticalbalance,capableofweighingtothenearest0,001g. 5.2 Mechanicalmill,easytoclean,suitableforthekindofseedandallowingthelattertobegroun

29、dwithout heatingandwithoutappreciablechangeinmoisture,volatilematterandoilcontent. 5.3 Mechanicalgrateror,ifnotavailable,ahand-operatedgrater. ENISO665:2000 2 5.4 Flat-bottomedvessel,eitherofmetalorglass,atthediscretionoftheanalyst. Ifmetalisused,itshallberesistanttoattackunderthetestconditions.Thev

30、esselshallbeprovidedwithawell- fittinglidandshallallowthetestportiontobespreadtoabout0,2g/cm 2 (e.g.avesselofdiameter70mmand height30mmto40mm).Glassvesselswithgroundclosuresmayalsobeused. 5.5 Electricoven,withthermostaticcontrolandgoodnaturalventilation,capableofbeingregulatedsothatthe temperatureof

31、theairandoftheshelvesintheneighbourhoodofthetestportionsliesbetween101Cand105C innormaloperation. 5.6 Desiccator,containinganefficientdesiccantsuchasphosphorus(V)oxide,silicagel,activatedalumina, etc.,andprovidedwithaceramicplatewhichallowsvessels(5.4)tocoolrapidly. 6 Sampling Samplingisnotpartofthe

32、methodspecifiedinthisInternationalStandard.Arecommendedsamplingmethodis giveninISO542 1 . Itisimportantthatthelaboratoryreceiveasamplewhichistrulyrepresentativeandhasnotbeendamagedor changedduringtransportandstorage. 7 Preparationoftestsample 7.1 Preparethetestsamplebyreducingthelaboratorysampleinac

33、cordancewithISO664.Iflargenon- oleaginousforeignbodieshavebeenseparatedbeforereductionofthelaboratorysample,makeallowanceforthis inthecalculation(see9.2).Accordingtotherequirementsofthecontract,takeasampleasreceivedorafter separationoftheimpurities. 7.2 Inthecaseofcopra,gratetheproductbyhandor,prefe

34、rably,useamechanicalgrater(5.3)whichallowsthe wholesampletobetreated.Whengratingbyhand,whichdoesnotallowalltheanalysissampletobegrated, endeavourtoobtainatestsamplewhichisasrepresentativeaspossibleand,tothisend,takeaccountofthesize andcolourofdifferentfragments. Thelengthoftheparticlesaftergratingma

35、yexceed2mm,butshallnotbegreaterthan5mm.Mixtheparticles carefullyandcarryoutthedeterminationwithoutdelay. 7.3 Inthecaseofseedsofmediumsize(groundnut,etc.),exceptforsafflowerseed,sunflowerseed,soyabeans andcottonseedwithadherentlinters,grindthetestsampleinthemechanicalmill(5.2),whichhaspreviouslybeen

36、wellcleaned,untilthemajordimensionoftheparticlesobtainedisnotgreaterthan2mm.Rejectthefirstparticles (aboutone-twentiethofthesample).Collecttherest,mixcarefullyandcarryoutthedeterminationwithoutdelay. 7.4 Smallseeds(linseed,colza,hemp,etc.)aswellassafflowerseed,sunflowerseed,soyabeansand cottonseedwi

37、thadherentlinters,areanalysedwithoutpreviousgrinding. 8 Procedure 8.1 Testportion 8.1.1 Drythevesselwithitslidfor1hat103Cpriortobeingplacedinthedesiccatorbeforeweighing.Weigh thevessel(see5.4)withitslidtothenearest0,001g,afterleavingitopenforatleast30mininthedesiccator(see 5.6)atlaboratorytemperatur

40、gthetestportion,withthelidremoved,intheoven(see5.5)setat103C 2C.Close theoven.After3h(12hto16hinthecaseofcottonseedwithadherentlinters),reckonedfromthetimewhenthe temperaturereturnsto103C,opentheoven.Immediatelyclosethevesselwithitslidandplaceitinthe desiccator.Assoonasthevesselhascooledtolaboratory

41、temperature,weighittothenearest0,001g. Returnthevessel,withthelidremoved,totheoven.After1h,repeattheoperationsofclosingthevessel,allowing ittocool,andweighingit. Ifthedifferencebetweenthetwoweighingsisequaltoorlessthan0,005g(fora5gtestportion),regardthe determinationasfinished.Ifnot,subjectthetestpo

42、rtiontosuccessive1hperiodsintheoven,untilthedifference betweentwosuccessiveweighingsisequaltoorlessthan0,005g. Neverputmoistproductsintheoventogetherwithproductsthatarenearlydry,asthiswillresultinthelatterbeing partiallyrehydrated. Carryouttwodeterminationsonthesametestsample. 9 Expressionofresults
