2、ext of the Recommendation adopted by the “Telecommunications“ Commission: “The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations, considering that the introduction of space services may require an extension of national monitoring services to assist in cases of harmful interference
3、 where space stations are involved, taking into account 1. that in view of the limited spectrum resource available, an increase in the number of space stations auld lead to growing interference problems, both between space services and between space and earth services, 2. that the European network o
4、f monitoring stations should not normally be required to make checks upon installations ownehperate by INTELSAT, which already has adequate facilities for this pnrpose, 3. that European satellite systems should include, for operational purposes, instaliations for control and monitoring of their own
5、missions, recommends (a) that the task of monitoring should be carried out by central national offis with their own checking stations and that, in consequence, no joint European monitoring centres need to be created, (b) that the European network of monitoring stations should establish liaison with
6、the I“E!LSAT monitoring stations wherever necessary, particularly with a view to locating sources of harmful interference, (c) that the European network should play the same role as outlined in (b) above, in respect of European satellite systems, (d) that monitoring statims, as far as possible, shou
7、ld co-operate in cases of interference involving stations in the space service, (e) that Administrations with fadities for assisting in resolving cases of harmful interference where stations in the space service are involved should forward information on their available facilities to all CEP member
