For the purpose of adjustment in accordance with good manufacturing practice, the following ingredients may be added: essences, oils and pulp from the named fruit, a
44、nd water. Sweetening ingredient: means sugar, invert sugar, honey, glucose, fructose, dextrose or any combination thereof in dry or liquid form. Solid pack means a pack in which the fruit or vegetable has been partially or wholly precooked before processing so as to allow the food to pack closely wi
45、th the minimum amount of free liquid. Heavy pack means a pack in which a minimum amount of water required for proper processing is used as the packing media. Syrup pack means a pack in which a sweetening ingredient is used with water as the packing media. Water pack means a pack in which water is us
46、ed as the packing media. CLASSIFICATION Grades for Canned Fruits and Vegetables Canned fruits and vegetables to this specification shall meet the grade standards, including the optional standards, established in Processed Products Regulations, Schedule I, Table I, and shall be supplied in any of the
47、 following grades, as specified (par. 8.1h when such grade has been established (Notes 1 and 2) : Canada Fancy Canada Choice Canada Standard. Canned grapefruit and canned pineapple for which no Canadian regulatory standard exists, shall meet the requirements given in par. 6.2 and 6.3. 4 Note 1: Grad
48、e standards have been established for the following canned fruits: apples, apple sauce, apricots, blueberries, cherries (sweet, cocktail, marachino, crme de menthe, red and sour and pined), fruit cocktail, fruit salad, fruits for salad, berries (small fruit), peaches, pears, plums, prune plums and strawberries.
