The steel shaping process is

、at the manufacturers discretion. 6.2 Condition on delivery (heat treatment condition and surface finish) 6.2.1 Products shall be supplied in the “as rolled” (+AR) condition, if no other delivery condition as in Table 1 has been agreed at the time of enquiry and ordering. 6.2.2 Other heat treatment c

、onditions and/or surface finishes with the relevant requirements may be agreed at the time of enquiry and ordering. 6.3 Chemical composition 6.3.1 Table 2 specifies the chemical composition for the various steel grades. NOTE The Al content specified in Table 2 ensures sufficient resistance to ageing

、 for all steel grades. 6.3.2 Table 3 specifies the tolerances for product analysis values deviating from the limit values of the cast analysis specified in Table 2. 6.4 Hardenability The hardenability requirements and limit values specified in Table 7 apply to products made of special steel. The har

、dness values in this table can also be obtained from Figures 1 a) to 1 f). 6.5 Mechanical properties 6.5.1 Tables 4, 5 and 6 specify mechanical properties at room temperature. 6.5.2 The values specified in Tables 4 to 7 apply for the corresponding heat treatment temperatures as in Table 8. 6.5.3 For

、 any condition on delivery, the verification of the mechanical properties for a simulated heat treatment condition (normalized or quenched and tempered) may be agreed at the time of enquiry and ordering. In this case the mechanical properties specified in Tables 5 and 6 shall be verified for the rel

、evant test pieces. 6.5.4 For special steels, the manufacturer and purchaser may agree at the time of ordering on the verification of low temperature impact resistance by subjecting reference test pieces from the same cast to the Charpy pendulum impact test at 40 C. The mean notch impact energy value

、 shall be at least 40 J. The heat treatment of specimens, the yield stress, tensile strength, elongation after fracture and reduction in cross-section on fracture are subject to agreement. DIN 17115:2012-07 8 6.6 Technological properties 6.6.1 Formability In the bend test, products with a diameter u

、p to 26 mm shall withstand bending through 180 without incipient cracks forming on the tension and compression sides when the products are bent in the cold condition around a mandrel having a diameter as specified in Table 4 as a function of the treatment condition (untreated, annealed or spheroidiz

、ed), depending on the steel grade. Confirmation of this may be agreed at the time of enquiry and ordering. For larger diameters, products in accordance with this standard shall only be bent in the hot condition. 6.6.2 Weldability All steel grades as in this standard are suitable for flash butt weldi

、ng, for products having smaller diameters also for resistance butt welding. 6.6.3 Shearability For products of steel grades 21MnSi5, 24MnSi6, 27MnSi6, 15CrNi6, 20MnNiCrMo3-2, 20MnNiCrMo3-3, 23MnNiCrMo5-2, 23MnNiCrMo5-3 and 23MnNiMoCr5-4 if the delivery condition “treated for shearability condition”

、(+S) has been ordered, the hardness value shall not exceed the values specified for this condition in Table 4. NOTE Under suitable conditions, the relevant steel grades are also shearable in the annealed condition (+A) or spheroidized (+AC), see Table 4, while unalloyed steels are shearable in the n

、ormalized condition (+N), see Table 5; steel grades 15Mn4, 18Mn4, 21Mn4 and 21Mn5 are also shearable in the untreated condition. 6.7 Grain size Steels as in Table 2 shall be fine-grained, i.e. they shall have an austenitic grain size (as-quenched grain size) no greater than grain size index 6 when t

、ested as in DIN EN ISO 643. 6.8 Non-metallic inclusions Requirements regarding non-metallic inclusions apply to special steels and are to be met in the case of special steels; however confirmation of this shall be agreed separately (see 5.2, option 10). 6.9 Internal defects Products shall not have any internal defects likely to adversely affect their performance to any significant extent. 6.10 Surface condition 6.10.1 Products shall have a smooth surfac
