DIN 33870-2:2013-12 4 Foreword This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 043-01-28 AA Brogerte of the Normenausschuss Informationstechnik und Anwendungen (NIA) (Information Technology and Selected IT Applications Standards Committee). It defines requirements and te
14、sts for the remanufacturing of original toner cartridges and is intended to act as a basis for a generally applicable evaluation of these cartridges. At the same time, environmental and sustainability aspects are also taken into consideration. The digital test templates (PDF files) and specimen form
15、 C for evaluating the tests are attached to the standard on CD-ROM. DIN 33870 Requirements and tests for the remanufacturing of refilled toner cartridges for electrophotographical printers, copiers and facsimile machines consists of the following parts: Part 1: Monochrome; with CD-ROM Part 2: 4-Colo
16、ur printers; with CD-ROM Amendments This standard differs from DIN 33870:2001-01 and DIN-Fachbericht (DIN Technical Report) 155:2007-09 as follows: a) the scope of test procedures has been restricted; b) information on the remanufacturing process and minimum information on the documentation have bee
17、n added; c) ISO/IEC 19798 has been taken into account; d) the scope of the test has been extended; e) further test templates have been added. Previous editions DIN 33870: 2001-01 DIN-Fachbericht 155: 2007-09 DIN 33870-2:2013-12 5 1 Scope This standard applies solely to remanufactured toner cartridge
18、s with black, yellow, magenta and cyan toner which are used in office machines with printing functions (4-Colour printers). The test procedures described in this standard apply to toner cartridges complying with this standard for use in colour printers (within the meaning of this standard) which wer
19、e first placed on the market after 31 December 2013. The date of issue of the EU conformity declaration is used for the date of first marketing. Thus, DIN 33870-2 is to be applied for toner cartridges used in printers which were first placed on the market after the date mentioned above. For toner ca
20、rtridges used exclusively in printers which were first placed on the market before 31 December 2013, the test methods described in DIN-Fachbericht 155 remain in effect. The marketer of the remanufactured toner cartridges shall include a copy of the EU conformity declaration of the printer in the tes
21、t documentation and be able to indicate the source of the EU conformity declaration if he wishes to apply the test procedures according to DIN-Fachbericht 155. In matters relating to marking, health, safety, and the remanufacturing process, DIN 33870-2 is also applicable for these toner cartridges.
22、This standard specifies the properties and functions after remanufacture as well as the tests to be carried out for proving the image describing quality aspects of toner cartridges. The aim of this standard is to specify minimum requirements for consistent printing quality and malfunction-free opera
23、tion across the entire period of use of the toner cartridges. NOTE The scope has been restricted in order to ensure that, even after publication of this standard, toner cartridges for older printers which are no longer obtainable in sufficient numbers for the tests can still be marked appropriately.
24、 Therefore the restriction applies only to the test procedures. For traders / marketers with a private label, traceability to the manufacturer shall be ensured. If the marketer do
49、es not have a collection system reflecting the state of the art and proven in a process description, the provider of the collection system, which the marketer has to instruct in this case, shall have a collection system with process descriptions (e.g. according to DIN EN ISO 14001).
