National foreword This document (EN 124-6:2015) has been prepared by Technical Co

9、mmittee CEN/TC 165 “Waste water engineering” (Secretariat: DIN, Germany). The preliminary work was done by Working Group WG 4 “Manhole tops, gully tops, drainage channels and other ancillary components for use outside buildings”. The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the DIN-No

10、rmenausschuss Wasserwesen (DIN Standards Committee Water Practice), Working Committee NA 119-05-01 AA Entwsserungsgegenstnde. When placing manhole tops and gully tops on the German market, the performance of the following essential characteristics shall be stated: reaction to fire; frame bearing are

11、a; load-bearing capacity; permanent set; securing of covers/gratings within the frame; skid resistance; durability of load-bearing capacity against mechanical failure, securing against unintended lifting, skid resistance against loss of grip. Methods used in Germany for securing the cover or grating

12、 within the frame are given in the national standard DIN 1229. DIN EN 124-6:2015-09 3 Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN 124:1994-08 as follows: a) the standard has been split into 6 parts with Part 1 containing general design and performance requirements and Parts 2 to 6 performance requi

13、rements for manhole tops and gully tops made of specific materials; b) test methods for specific materials have been added. 37、5 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard applies to manhole tops and gully tops made of Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE) or unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) by a moulding or extrusion process, with a clear opening up to and including 1 000 mm for covering gullies, manholes and inspectio

38、n chambers for installation within areas subjected to pedestrian and/or vehicular traffic. It is applicable to manhole tops and gully tops for use in areas which can only be used by pedestrians and pedal cyclists (class A 15), and pedestrian areas and comparable areas, car parks or car parking decks

39、 (class B 125). This European Standard gives guidance for combinations of covers/grating made of PP, PE or PVCU with frames according to EN 124-2, EN 124-3, EN 124-4 and EN 124-5. This European Standard is not applicable in isolation but only in combination with EN 124-1. This European Standard is n

40、ot applicable to: rodding point covers according to EN 13598-1; gratings/covers as part of prefabricated drainage channels according to EN 1433; floor and roof gullies in buildings which are specified in EN 1253 (all parts); surface boxes. 2 Normative references The following documents, in whole or
